That's a really nice custom! I love it.
Here's one from another site I participate in. It is amazing.

Re: 73-87 hot wheels and die cast thread
Here's one that I did for my dad. It started as a Kmart green Silverado earlier this year. It turned out great after I color sanded it and cleared it. Sadly I didn't get any finished pictures of it due to time issues.

Re: 73-87 hot wheels and die cast thread
I also saw a list of 2015 Redline Club cars from HotWheelCollectors.com and noticed that an '83 Silverado 4x4 was listed.

I bought one of those holders at a garage sale full of HotWheels for next to nothing and would love to know where they sell at .

Re: 73-87 hot wheels and die cast thread
I just saw there is another 83 Silverado slated for 2015 CFH48 #16 in the HW Performance line. I wonder what this one will look like? What brand name will it display? There will also be a new 62 Chevy custom in the Surf Patrol line , a 67 custom in the Heat Fleet and a 52 in the Then and Now line. Looks like a good year for Chevy Diecast.

I don't know if this is for real or not, but it sure is cool. A video I ran across yesterday.

Re: 73-87 hot wheels and die cast thread
No. I haven't seen when these will be available. RedLine Club members get a priority ordering window. I can't remember if it's a day or 2 or a week. After that priority window is done, then non RLC members of the site can order. I'm not an RLC member, but I'm considering it for this truck.

Re: 73-87 hot wheels and die cast thread
I am . I joined a few weeks ago. I tried ordering some things on the 23rd when it was half off. The truck I was after sold out in two minutes. I couldn't stay around the computer that long.

Re: 73-87 hot wheels and die cast thread
Is there a "Look what I got" thread in this forum? i guess this is the place f not. I know Andy started this before there even was this forum for scaled creations. he played a big part in this forum coming into being, so thank you sir!
Anyhow, I am w/o a camera for now. But last weekend I went to our local antique tractor club annual farm toy show held on Sunday. Missed the Saturday auction due to a snow storm. My funds are low but I had to get out and look anyway. I wish I had more cash on me because I saw so much GM diecast, mostly M2 and GL. I narrowed it down to just two Greenlights I didn't have. I got that limited edition dark blue & white Midnight Edition '72 w/cap and the medium green & white '68 Country Roads w/tool box. So, I blew a 20 and went home happy, but wishing I was happier! I walked it through (hardly anyone there) before deciding and saw some great stuff. When I went back around I couldn't find some I was considering. I swear, I was about the only one looking. I saw the JL Blazer w/John Deere tractor and that was number one due to rarity. I could always find GLs. I saw about every Task Force M2 made. if I hadn't just blown 70 bucks with Robert recently I would have brought more money. although that money probably would have gone to something silly like paying a bill or food. That's how it's been with being a low-volume contractor with a house payment (better half her crazy debts rolled*) from back when this was a two income household. Down to a hundred bucks stashed, bout $60 in my wallet, a tank of fuel, freezer/cupboards full, and the next day (yesterday) recieved an $1,800 check. Hey you vendors, please come back! * Ever hear the one about the dog who lost his head over a little bit of tail? well, I lost my ass

Re: 73-87 hot wheels and die cast thread
I found a new Silverado yesterday. All metal. Looks like the rivets are in the same place as the $1 versions; so maybe some bodys swaps can be done.
This is the one "1badgmc" was referring to in post #170. Took long enough for them to get released.

I'm REALLY surprised people are finding these in stores already. I always buy my Entertainment series cars by the case and I generally have them in hand a month before anyone finds them in stores. My case hasn't even shipped yet. Last edited by 1badgmc; 06-11-2015 at 08:20 AM. |

Re: 73-87 hot wheels and die cast thread
Here I have the 2012 Off-Road Silverado 4x4 and then I have another with the body swapped onto the lowered chassis. Drill the rivets, swap the bodies, put 'em back together.

When I first started doing the body swaps, I super glued them. Now I use the button head socket screws. I go through a lot of the little allen wrenches though; rounding off the ends. :<(
