(Pictures are in my build thread) Ordered a gas tank from Boyd Welding which should be here Monday so getting that installed and running the fuel line is my next step.
Sounds good and I will be watching for the updates! Interested to see how the boyd tank looks. I wish i would have shopped around a bit instead of just buying one from CPP. My tank is great but not cheap by any means.

I am seriously thinking about taking my 71 and looking for a new cab to build a circus wagon truck. I have allot of parts left over to make another SWB by cutting down the lwb frame on the 71. I wish I could locate some donor parts for a cheap build, maybe after I get this one done.

Ahhh, I see... Good to know. Another question I had for you is how far from the ground is your crossmember? It looks pretty low in some of the pics. Im assuming there are no mods to it at all, except from the PB control arms?

Correct no other mods except PB shock relocators and PB control arms. The truck lays out hard on the crossmember, actually it's the perfect e-brake! I plan on fabricating 1" tall bump stops so if I loose a bag while I am driving I wont slam the pavement.

To get a better idea, my daughter in the pics is 4'-10 and is taller than the truck. My son is 5'-4 and is about 8" or so taller than it also.

Re: My First

Man, that's gotta be exciting! I can't wait to get that far along in my build.

What bags are you running in the front? I noticed you had said your front crossmember pretty much hits the ground. Mine is about 2 inches from the ground (of course I don't have all the weight on it yet).

I have Firestone bags on there now but plan on buying some RE7 bags and keeping the Firestone as backups.
I had the same issue when I had everything installed and could not figure out why it would not lay all the way down. I called Nate and we chatted about it and it came out that I was shock bound. I installed Nate's shock relocator bracket and the problem was solved.
Your frame should lay on the cross member also if you have the control arms and shock relocators. It may sit on the cross member with the stock control arms too but don't quote me on that.

Take some pics and send them to Nate and he maybe able to help you out.
I tried to get a hold of him a few times and left messages but he must be out or busy. I should have my truck back by the first part of next week and I will be taking apart the front to get the new bushing inserts from him so hopefully I can get in touch with him soon.

Matt

Thanks man! If your still thinking about it than you need to just order them. If you don't you will be wishing you did for the rest of the build.

Thanks Alvin! I hope to have it back in my garage soon so I can finish up some things and get it to the bodyshop for paint.

Re: My First

Thanks so much guys and it surely is appreciated.
I tell you what I had a smile on my face for days after hearing it start for the first time.
Even though I had some help getting the wiring done and some other items it still is great feeling of accomplishment to get this truck to where it is now. I have some new steam built up so hopefully I can get this thing done so I can enjoy part of the summer with it.

Thanks again everyone for the encouragement and kind words!

It's just a temporary seat out of my buddy's shop to allow me to move truck around.

I am going with a modified bench sent out of a 93 chevy. I already made the mounts but have to shorten the bracket up about 2 1/2" to allow the seat to sit under the window.
