Looks good!

Since you're never on here, take a look at the 4-Door Mega Cab my dad and I are building out of a '94 Suburban. LOL

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

Looking good chris, I was thinking about the 4 corner mod but I wanted to put a 194 bulb in there lol just like the lower stock. The one I am still wanting to try is the 4 brake light mod itd look sick with the 4 corner mod.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

Man you've come a long way on your $600.00 dollar truck & I think it looks great!! My DD is an '89 K1500 SWB with a 305 & 700R. I took all that sensor & TBI junk off mine & put a 4-barrel intake, quadrajet & HEI dist. in. It gets alot better gas mileage now & a lil more power. Keep up the good work. I don't guess ya'll ever found out who backed into it?

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

pretty much, but you have to epoxy the ring on the backside of it, it's the plus sign or + looking thing the bulb socket turns into to hold it in place, remove your old lowers cut them off, epoxy them on and drill your hole or drill the hole first.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

not a whole lot else been done, put my tailpipes back on and new tips. I also fixed them alot better for less to hopefully no leaks. I need to work on them a lil' bit more, hangers and such.

I decided I wanted to paint my accessory bracket so I pulled it, painted it, put it back on today. I like it better now. I got more to do.

I bought new cable ends for the 2 gauge cable I bought to make myself new battery cables. I also made my gauge holder to move my gauges up in the dash pocket, and had to buy a new line kit since mine was too short. I also picked up a battery hold down and reinstalled the primed and painted battery tray.

I'll try to get some pics up next day I work on it.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

made and ran my new battery cables, bolted it down, reran my gauges, had to move/make hole in the firewall closer to the engine(lines too short) mounted them, wired em, ran new line for the oil gauge. Fired it back up for the first time in a couple weeks, sounds queit with tailpipes on but nice as soon as you hit the gas.

You can also see where I aid I decided to paint my accessory bracket silver instead of black.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

got some new junk yesterday and today, and junk is the right word for it too.

I guess it happens when you have to go cheap.

First up is my amp kit, tucking wires left my amp wire a bit short, can't find the other piece I had which I beleive was longer. I ordered this,

Amazon.com: SoundQuest SQK8 8 Gauge Copper-Clad... Amazon.com: SoundQuest SQK8 8 Gauge Copper-Clad...
only because price pros on amazon owed me from a previous order, so I got it for like $11 shipped. It's an ok kit, but mine must be 6 gauge or their wire is way thin it looks like 10 gauge to me. So I decided I'll splice the old piece of 8 gauge I think it is or 6 whatever my old amp kit is, to the wire I already have for my amp in the truck. I had a piece for the ground which I didn't use previously, I just used some left over blue power wire for a ground and used this to power the junction block underhood from the factory. Now I plan to use this amp kit to power that block and then have the thick wire to my amp. I may even double up the wire to the block to make sure it gets enough juice.

Next up this came today...

Amazon.com: Mr. Gasket 8092 Flex-Braid Hose... Amazon.com: Mr. Gasket 8092 Flex-Braid Hose...
JUNK!!!!!

I can NOT cut this crap. I cut my other kit with scissors, no problem, this I tried 5 pairs on, tin snips, linemans pliers, my wire cutter/crimper, bolt cutter's, steak knife(which worked better then the others) and a razor knife. I finally got it cut with a sawzall and a bi metal blade, not very clean either. The ends I thought were supposed to be chrome, they are more like brushed finish. Oh well it's better then hose clamps showing I guess.

Re: My 88 buildup on a tight budget

here's the front end pics.

why would you crank the bolt down this much?

tore up sway bar end links.

and I know the DS tire the top leans in and from the looks of both upper control arms they are pulled out as far as they can be and have the biggest cam bolt kits in them too?
