The hood hinges are Porter Built and they are good quality.

Jeff I am pretty sure that Justin would have replaced the hood hinges no matter how low this thing was going. You can put money on a stock set of inner fender panels never seeing the light of day on ANY truck Justin builds, LOL! But yeah, this truck is going to drag if need be. I think Justin wants to be able to reach out the window while driving and pick strawberries. We are in the agricultural center of the state.

The hinges are built *****in too...I know they wouldn't have had to be moved except for that the Vintage-Air unit is right in the way of where the hinges would have been. They just had to be moved inboard and a bit of modifications were made to attach them to the hood. I can tell you that these hold this heavy ass hood up, no problems.

Here's a sneak of the rims fresh back from getting a coat of clear done. Talk about slick. These rims are going to hands down be the easiest rim in the world to maintain. no spokes to clean brake dust out of, and no polishing!! Sweet!!

Those rims are TOO COOL! Since they are satin finished, what finish on the lugs are you going to use?? Glass bead finished chrome would be good...

Our lug nuts are going to be S.S 12 point lug nuts from ARP they are custom made and they will be finsihed in a brush finish.

Sorry you are wrong these are wheels were made by Boyd Jr
of Boyd Coddingtons wheels inc.This the second set they made like
these.The fiirst set was made for a car that Boyd Sr built that went on
a pink caddy they built.These are wheels are a two piece billet wheel not
a cast wheel.

Justin's been working on sheet-metal the last few days.

Finished up the hood seams and fender seams.

Lot's of holes filled on the firewall and under the hood.

Not like no ones seen a stock handle

but here's the before. Tomorrow they'll be shaved, and the jams will be filled. The new Bear Claw latches go in!

I was hoping you were going to weld the side cowl panels on to the hood and reverse flip the whole thing is some sick way.... and then sell me the kit. I've always wanted to get rid of that vertical body line between hood and door. Any advice?

BMW flip kit,,,I had one on a 54 F truck ..never again...it made it a PIA to do anything under the hood

I actually hate reverse flip hoods but I don't like that body line either. I'll probably leave it because it's a huge pain in the ass to fab something to support a hundred pound hood, especially since I do all of the work solo.

Got a little more done today.

Here's the passenger side almost finished with pieces tacked in place.

This is the drivers side ready to be finished.

Justin's going to be finishing up the truck tomorrow...should be ready to drive on Monday

just a quick hijack...but with a little engineering I think it could be done...especially with that porterbuilt style cowl hinge...
you would just have to set it up so that the hood moves out and up immediately when you open it so that the rear lower corner of the hood dosen't drag on the fender...
I have always wanted to do a hood that way too, I guess really trick, you could mold the cowl vent on and do hideaway wipers too...

another option would be like a 48 buick, where the hood opens from either side, I think they had a hinge on either side of the hood, and the whole thing raised sideways depending which side of the car you were on.
