I don't blame you I wanted to go stainless too but couldn't afford it. Should look and sound amazing.

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
I hope so, my poor old wallet is starting to hurt. I will be so glad to finish up this truck. im looking at building a home this year, so I want to get this little money pit up and finished before I start working on property.

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
snapped a few shots yesterday. worked on the right box side last night until 10 outside. started getting dark so I quit. got a few hours left and Im down to the hood. need a few days on this to make some real progress. itching to put my wheels on, but patience is some thing Im still learning. lol would like to have it painted before the wheels go on, but Im quite sure I wont make it that long.

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
just about done that last box side. dont know why I fight some of this so bad. its taken me three hours to finish off the inside and get the outside this far. I figure two more hours and she will be primed.

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
What's your procedure for filler over the welds where you shortened the bed. Do you use fiberglass filler to seal it up then something that sands better or what? Do you try to get seam sealer up in behind it?
Looks great!

Quote:
once body worked and finish sanded with 180 I seal with a metal etch primer and follow with my high build primer fillers. then I will end up using seam sealer to finish my front seam at the front of the box, and follow with some gravel gaurd, followed by sealer and paint to the inside. hope that helps you out! any questions feel free. |

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
there must be some way a guy can get at it. perhaps we should start a group and see if we can all invest an hour or two a night and keep tabs on our progress for a little more motivation.push to see 10 hours a week and see if we can kick start a few of us! we will call it the "getter done" club! ok perhaps not getter done but some thing along that line.

Re: 72 c-10 shorty
Truck looks awsome, more so in person. May have told me already but what are the plans for the bed - wood / metal? Too bad the other rides your working on eat up so much of your truck time...
