Re: 77 yellow gmc swb
Yep Budd its a 160mph speedo ! I like the knobs they go with the old school look I got goin on , the twist style would give a newer retro fit look , just not what I'm lookin for , heres my dash panel getting closer to done , got the top of the steering wheel cover welded on and the bottom all formed up,

Everything looks really nice. I can't wait to see how the gauge cluster turns out.

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb
nice job on the knobs , you could glue rubber O-rings in the grooves if they end up beeing too slick to pull with greasy hands

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb
Read through the thread and the work you are doing is simply astounding. Very thoughtful well executed modifications all around. I am glad to see the rear bumper filler panel you made, I had thought of doing the same thing except using a roll pan and making clearances or pass through's for the bumper brackets.. It does really complete the rear of the truck and it was a factory component on my first ride a 89 s10 blazer. Awesome progress and great fab skills!

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb
Thanks guys , I just tried to make a plan and stick with it , just wanted a simple clean build ! so the digital flush mount gauges werent workin so I cut all the holes in for the autometers , also cut the hole for the heater, air ride switches and cut a notch in for the air gauge , put it all together to see how it looked , now I see I need to remove more of the dash support tomorrow ,

Re: 77 yellow gmc swb
Thanks , next up was to make a shift indicator switch ?? something else I have to do to get the dash panel done , goin to take a hunk of plastic and rivet a wire to the back side at all 6 shift points ,add a bracket I can weld to the shift lever with a hunk of copper to use as a contact thats grounded, run eash of the 6 riveted wired to the 6 lights on the dash ,so tonight I made some brackets and mounted with the pan bolts and use some plastic and duct tape to moch it up, I think I may even work ! heres a pic taken at the trans shift point to help understand
