Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
We don't have a garage, so we built one…
We have been storing the chassis down the street in our neighbor's garage, which has been awesome, but with 3 kids I just can never get away even for a few minutes to work on it. So I decided to build a carport and attached it to the front of our shed, and put a heater in it so I can actually get to work on it. Just rolled the chassis up the street with the help of some friends and now we're in business. Time to get to work! |

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
Really looking great, can’t wait to see that bright orange tub on that clean black chassis. It's seeing the progress of others like yours that motivates me to keep pushing on.
Are those brake or fuel lines lying on the ground? I would love to know more about them. |

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
So would I!
They are both brake and fuel lines, and I'm trying to figure out which are which, and where they all go. They came in a pile in the back of the second Blazer we bought. They appear to be stainless. Got the rear axle brake lines hooked up today. The front-to-rear doesn't seem to fit though so I'm trying to figure it out. Quote:

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
Guys, where can I find a diagram or at least a photo or something of how the fuel lines are supposed to be run in these Blazers? And where can I get pre-bent lines? Looks like LMC doesn't carry them for the Blazers. Help!

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
When you get a chance, post a pic., that could effect the fuel line you buy...

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
It seems I have misplaced the two curved brackets that connect the u-joint on the back of the rear driveshaft to the rear diff. I believe they are the flat ones, not the u-bolts that go on the front of the rear shaft. Does anyone know where to get these flat ones?

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
Dusty,
Napa used to carry them. Not sure if they still do. If you can't find new ones I may have a couple left from the blue blazer I parted. I will send them up if you need them Richard

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
Richard, I went to Napa. They had 3 different sizes. I bought the one that looked the closest to what I needed, but the holes are about 1/8" too far apart. Then I bought some from Rock Auto and they were the are the wrong kind altogether. If you have the correct ones I would love to take them off your hands. Let me know.
Thanks. Dusty |

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
Dusty,
Between being out of town and the rain I have been unable to pull the straps off the black Blazer yet. I can't seem to locate the ones from the blue blazer only the ubo;ts for the front shaft. It will most likely be this weekend b4 I could get back out there. I did come across these on Fee bay if your interested in that route. Says they fit trucks all the wat to 78' http://www.ebay.com/itm/67-78-Chevro...47b853&vxp=mtr Richard

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
Were the straps the right ones? I pulled them off the black Blazer since I could not find the ones from the blue one. How you making out? I sent the bolts that were with it but I would recommend getting new ones.
Richard

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
They are the right ones! Thanks so much Richard. I'm sorry it took me forever to get back to you. I received them and put them on the shelf because I was busy with other things last week. But they do fit. You saved the day! Thanks again Richard.

Re: Project OBS (Orange Blossom Special)
So I got a pile of pre-bent stainless fuel lines from Inline Tube but none of them are labeled and from what I can tell from the photos I took of my original lines before I dismantled the truck, they don't look like exact replicas. Does anyone have experience with this and could guide me? Is there a diagram somewhere? They're all factory bend because I'm going back 100% original with this part of the truck. Any help is appreciated.
