What style heater are you using? I need to get rid of my stock heater also due to it hitting my tire but I still need heat for the winter.

Thanks guys. The heater is a vintage air kit. Its only a heater/ defrost unit. Goy it from sumitt.

How well does it heat and do you know the part number?

I just ordered one from Vintage air, is it possible for you to get a picture of the heater mounted under your dash just to give me an idea how to mount it?

Thanks. Jayschevy, haven't forgot about you. Just been too busy at work to even get to my truck. I can tell you I mounted it right on the center hump of the firewall. I made some standoffs to mount it to there. Then bought some nice brass fittings for the firewall connection. I made a panel were the original controls went instead of using the plstic one they sent. I think I have pics in this thread.

thanks. katy got her first award today. a show with 100 or so cars at the local advance auto and she won best lowrider. didnt get a trophy, the sponsors handed out envelopes. mine had $25 in it. up against 10 or so lowriders, mine was the only one on the ground. did beat a beautiful 50 chevy pickup with a ls vette motor in it.

Finally the weather is getting alittle better here. Got to get the truck ready to come out(mid april i hope). The plan was to get it up on stands to get the driveshaft out (to get a new one made or balance it). we had to lengthen it for the dropmembers and it has a slight vibration from 25-35 mph (were i notice it the most). we will see what the shop thinks of our lengthening job. go to start it, nothing. So i was like fine, put the charger on it today. Hooked it back up after it was done and nothing. compressor never came on. Took it back out and brought it to the parts store. Sure enough it had a dead cell. $130 later new battery is in and truck started right up. Got the shaft out and will be going to universal joint sales in syracuse tomorrow to drop it off.

Have alot of loose ends i want to check off the to do list this spring/summer. that includes, but not limited too;
1. get driveshaft problem fixed
2. get an alignment done
3. switch from single thomas compressor to dual vlairs. ordered tonight from travis at pro performance.
4. carpet for cab
5. come up with some type of wood floor for raised bed floor.
6. hook up heater-had it installed for 18 months, still not hooked up
7. get nice face stock radio to replace radio delete plate
8 .buy the filler panels between grille and core support
9. new black seats covers
10. 67 68 cst style black door panels

been working, well ordering parts off the list. the bed floor is were i am struggling. i am looking at a craftec tonneau cover. I like the low profile look of it. would just need to come up with some sort of way to open it. the other one is the extang full tilt-that one would work as is but its not as low profile. i also want to do some kind of floor, but not sure what i want. stock style is out because i need to hinge/open it to get to stuff under it(plus i am not wanting to drop 1000 on the floor right now. to many other things on it need the $$.

If you're not looking at a locking or latching tonneau, the craftec would be fine. You'd just need to open it with your fingers. If you're looking for something more secure, you could look at Gaylord. They have a fiberglass tonneau that's pretty low profile. It's considerably more expensive, and it would need to be painted, but definitely more secure.

got my new air comressor`s in. just need to clean up the wires. works great. 0-150 psi in about 2 mins. thanks to travis at arizona pro perfomance for the deal on them. just have to test for leaks now.

locking doesnt bother me. not really looking for fiberglass. think i might just go ahead and get the craftec one and figure something out when i install it.

some new parts came in. kick panel covers, radiator cover, and wheel well covers. I wanted to get the full side trim, but didnt have $$ before paint. cant bring myself to drill all those holes in the body now so i went with the next best thing(imho). I held one p to the rear to see what they look like. Also ordered a new steering wheel(pic from ebay). Also got in a new pedal pad and chromeset and new door locks(so i can actually lock the doors).

I like the steering wheel! I say do the side trim, it would be worth it sir! Trust me! lol

I will go with these. I actually like the way they look. Hit my budget wall for now(spent alot of $$ these last couple of months). $700 for the full set vs the $85 i paid for these and not drilling a million holes helped me choose these. Plus getting alot of other items i needed vs getting just the side trim was a no brainer for me.

Got the driveshaft in and steering wheel installed. Man that was a pain in the... Had to cut the new horn spring way down(it would just stay blowing when i hooked the battery up. All good now.

Got some time today to add some new parts. Got my radiator cover, filler panels, and new hood shocks installed. The filler panels were fun....not. Was a pain getting the stupid bolts for the latch back in. I must say they do look good. Also got my emblem on the glovebox( it looks crocked, but looking at it its not).

Also installed new door locks. I can actually lock my truck now.

Still waiting on the weather to get it out. Was looking good until we got snow this week(they sanded the roads again). Just need a good rain to wash it off the roads. Needs an inspection and aligment when i get it out(hoping next weekend). Ordered and received my craftec cover. Would like to get that in this week.

Started to dismantle the radio(i have to cut it to get it to fit depth wise). I finally remembered to bring it to work with me today. It was pitted pretty good. I decided to sand the face smooth(no more bump up round the dial face). I used a belt sander. Then switched to 600, then 1500 paper(with a cutting compound). Then went to 3 different compounds with a buffing wheel in a dremel. All in all i had about an hour into it. What sucks is i didnt see a couple small pits near the button hole until i polished it. I will see what it looks like all together then decide if i want to go back and start over(its near my thumb in the pic).

Went to install the radio and it was still to big(my new under dash heater is in the way). So i cut it down as far as i could. It now fits. I ended up making a tray to hold the push buttons. It serves its purpose. I will hide a newer radio if i decide to put one in. Also added a before pic.

Wow great looking truck...i just picked up a 68 c10 longbed with 3 on the tree and a 250...i got one front fender off and that took like 45 minutes how did you get your whole front clip off so quick?
