lol...well before i wasent getting enough overlap on the welds so i ended up with a buch of pin holes that i had to go over again and weld up. but now i tack then overlap half way with another tack and so on. and i cool them with a blow gun .sometime it takes a while to find a technique. i was welding thicker stuff mostly before and havent done a lot of sheet metal stuff, but every patch i do i get better at it.

cut all the rusted mess out of the rear section and finished the rear floor support over the last few days

Hey guy I see you came by and took a tour on my build. I like the way you said (painted just kidding) I done more painting on my shop not the truck. But what the hey. You and mustard has the same old color on your truck. It is amazing that all these truck has the same cancer spots. But just keep working and you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. I wish that we had a junk yard down here that carried old truck like the one you took all the pictures at. At least you have a yard to get a lot of parts. Be good my friend and God Bless.

Finished the rear floor, i think it turned out good. everything is real flush and turned out even better than the other side. all that hard work of getting it to fit just right payed off. all the pin holes are filled (they are never ALL filled LOL but with the technique ive been using there are way less) on to the b pillar , this is getting exiting, feels like im seeing that light at the end of the tunnel. running out of rust to patch on the cab..

Finally spring is here and the garage doors are open. i sandblasted the headers.
here is a pic of my setup. saw horses and a screen door to let the sand go thrue, then a tarp so i can suck the sand up with my shop vac and re use it

today marks 3 years sense my trip cross country. i saw Cadillac ranch, the grand canyon, and of course many cool abandoned vehicles. just thought id share with you guys........

Very nice progress on the cab support. Looks like did a good job on it.
I did a trip out to Cali a few years ago, I was loving all the rust free metal out in the desert. I stopped at caddi ranch too. Very fun trip!

There is something on the same thought about the Cadillac ranch. But outside of Tampa the is a guy that planted airsteam trailers, the state complained about them. I think he won anyway. Good luck my friend.
