It's been a couple of months, show us some updated pics!!

Sorry, no updates right now. I haven't really worked on it since before Christmas. I got busy with the holidays and then did some work on my car. Finally have it back in the shop, but I probably won't be doing anything on it till next weekend.

I am continuing to work on getting the doors to fit like I want them to. When I shaved the drip rails, the a pillars stuck out too far for my liking. I decided to reshape the pillars slightly to pull it. There is also a little bit too much gap, so I am moving the outer edge back slightly to tighten that up. I have been working on the driver's side, which was the worst side. Once I get the pillar welded back up, I can finish the top corners of the cab and do some finishing along the top and back of the doors.

I am letting the leading edge stick out just slightly.






Thats it for now. Need to finish up this side before I move on to the next one.

I got the driver side mostly finished. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. It will need a little filler to smooth it all out, but overall, I think it will look good once it is done.

Things are starting to slow down, so I am going to try to start getting a lot of stuff done on the truck again. I worked on it after work today and started on the passenger side A-pillar.

Thanks you guys. I am trying to get back on the truck as much as possible. I got my semi annual motivation fix from the Goodguys show in Scottsdale last week. My goal is to get the truck all primered and drivable by November. I have a lot to do by then, so I am going to have make this a bigger priority.

I spent a little time today working on it and got most of the pillar welded up. Still have some to weld on the inside edge. I didn't get any pictures tonight. I am will get some next time I am at the shop.

I got the outside of the passenger side pillar welded and smoothed. Only got one picture. I still have a little bit of welding on the inside that should go pretty quick and then I need to grind down the inside.

I have most of the sheet metal modification done around the top part of the doors. The cab skin where the window frame and door skin meet was a problem. The cab does not follow the same line as the door.



The door frame obviously was set in and didn't line up with the cab at all. I decided I would try something and see how it looks. I think it will end up looking alright once I get everything smoothed out. I ended up cutting the cab skin back around 3 inches and decided to continue the line from the door back and fade it into the cab corner.








I also got a new front pulley set up from a local guy Tom Korinek. He sells lots of stuff for these trucks and has several yards with truck parts. The kit is an American Billet serpentine set up. Very similar to vintage air and billet specialties kits. To compare it with my dad's vintage air front runner kit, it is not quite as high quality, but it is cheaper by quite a bit. Plus, they are a local company which I like as well. They have a silver line edition that has some machined accents that also looks cool. I decided to go with all black however.

The little section on the cab really looks cool and the serpentine setup is sweet. A+

I have been working on getting the door gaps to where I want them on the top edge of the doors. I did not realize how big of a pain it would be, but it will be worth it to have consistent gaps all the way around the door. I haven't taken any pictures of it, cause there is not really anything worth taking a picture of. I will get some when I get the gap finished up .

Low68 would probably be done with his truck if he wasn't always helping me. The all black kit looks great. Did it show the machine marks like it did on my kit? I think if it had not shown markings and all the components had the same flat or gloss finish it would be perfect.

It did have the machine marks. I read the description again and I think they leave them on purpose. I will probably spray some flat clear on the accessories that are gloss to make everything match a little better.

I have been working on getting the window frame gap right. I have the back and the top edge pretty much finished up. I still have to do the front edge.
