A little bit of heat and a scraper usually works pretty good

For those projects where a fish is just not enough...

Re: My 83' Crew Cab Dually project
It's nice to be actually putting this thing back together instead of taking it apart...I think I've finally hit the top of the hill.
I have the body mounted back on the frame, engine and trans permanently installed, headers and resonator pipes in, most of my fuel and brake lines run, wiring to the rear, and I'm buttoning up all of the connections to the engine. I had to lengthen some of my harness and shorten other parts because of the Z. The power steering pump turned out to have a different fitting for the pressure line, but I was fortunate enough to have a really helpful guy at the parts store and I ended up cutting the old flare off and flaring the end to match the pump. I painted the firewall and I've been working on looming everything...which has been incredibly time consuming! Anyway here's some pics of progress: Old fitting: Everything in place and attached: My wiring mess!

Re: My 83' Crew Cab Dually project
40gal burb tank is out of the burb...that was a chilly adventure. It's a little bigger than I'd expected, and it doesn't fit between the rails, rather right on top of them, so I'll have to build some kind of framework to house it...I can also see that my bed floor is going to be raised waaaay up to cover it.

Re: My 83' Crew Cab Dually project
So...photobucket is apparently all screwed up again which has resulted in some broken links. I don't feel like going through the entire thread to figure out which pics are missing right now, but if anyone comes across one that's not working and really wants to see it, let me know.
Here's the broken one from above: And here's my current progress on the plenum. I'm a little out of practice with aluminum tig'ing and my machine keeps popping the breaker. Just when I've got my rhythm back, it pops! I'm going to grab a bigger breaker tomorrow and see if I can finish this up. I moved the blower motor 5" up and deleted the AC. I've had some interest in this on Instagram. If anyone else is interested in something like this, let me know. I'm trying to gauge whether or not it's enough to knock out a few of them...

Re: My 83' Crew Cab Dually project
Make sure on the photobucket deal that you don't rearrange any photos in your photobucket account. I had that problem a while ago when I was trying to reorganize my photobucket and put different photos in certain folders. If you move them around or put them in a folder the links will change.
Dunno if this is your issue but in case anyone else doesn't know.

Re: My 83' Crew Cab Dually project
Not the case with mine. Everything goes into the "truck" folder and stays there. Photobucket has bee having significant upload issues and drops like 20 of the same picture. I was able to go delete the extras, but apparently it moved other pictures in the mix or something and broke the links. I've had the account for over ten years and never had any issues until just a month ago. App reviews are showing that others apparently are having similar problems. Maybe they upgraded to Windows 10...

A little sanding and polish and it's done.

Re: My 83' Crew Cab Dually project
Had to take a break to clean the shop today. Small space gets out of control quickly. I was nearing gridlock. When I can't find tools, it's time...now I have no excuses not to get things finished. Lol
