Re: Cgt project
I asked my guy doing the interior to do the door speaker grills so they look like a mini door panel. I think he did an awesome job.

Re: Cgt project
Looks really nice! Very clean and a look that will still be "in" 15-20 years down the road.

Re: Cgt project
Thank you. You have described my goal. We love these trucks because of how they look stock. It is so easy to get crazy with modifications that in the end they look like something else. I like mods and updates like anyone and the safety and performance that goes with it, but really tried to keep the charm of the original truck.

Re: Cgt project
I wanted a premium sound system, but wanted more of an "original" look. Had Larry at Woods radio convert my original radio with Aurora design components that have all the latest features. Then purchased a Audison amp/dsp with 10" subs and 6" mids and tweeters. Big shout out to Mitchel at Next level audio in Nanaimo for working with me doing the final tune on the system. System has great "center stage". Best sound in a vehicle I've had.

Re: Cgt project
How easy are the controls on that head unit?

Re: Cgt project
There are only two knobs and the tone control, so you can imagine to do everything that the system is capable of, such as equalizer, phone control etc. you really need the instructions in front of you. Turning tone control 3 times to left does one thing, 2 times right a another, etc. etc. That being said because I had the DSP tuned the sound is how I like it and the features that I use most I have memorized. My guy that tuned the system (with a mic) was impressed with the quaility. I like how it looks in my modified truck and look forward to answering "how does the stock radio sound"?

Re: Cgt project
Sorry for the change of subject, but what kind of brake set-up did you go with? I saw the Wilwood master cylinder but am wondering what kit you’re running?

Re: Cgt project
The first time I installed the rear window it was really tight and I had sliced the seal and it puckered in that area. The new glass came from the same place as the rest of it but can't remember where (they likely all come from the same place). Last week I took it out to replace the seal. 3 separate days my wife and I attempted to install with no luck. I brought over my body man buddy and the 3 of us tried with no luck. We got it close but would never get the lock strip in it was so tight. I took the window down to a glass shop and had them cut me a piece of laminate glass the same, but with a 1/16" off the top. Wifey and I had it installed in 30 minutes. The next day I put in the lock strip which was another 30 minutes. Some of these jobs are very frustrating.

Nice! Have you been driving the truck yet or waiting to get all the finishing touches installed?

Re: Cgt project
Have dealt with a Chrome shop for years. Had them rechromed my bumpers. Installed them but just couldn't live with the waves. Talked with the shop and decided a course of action. I took back and while I waited they removed the chrome. I then took them home and spent a week blocking the nickel and copper. 80 grit up to 400. Much straighter. Their now back with the shop to get copper, nickel and then chromed.

Re: Cgt project
Gorgeous truck. I have found on the last couple of old trucks, if you can get good speakers sealed to the underside of the dash, they can sound really good.
