Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I ran these same mirrors but found out they vibrate in the wind. LMC truck sells a support plate that goes on the inside of the door to help with this. Have yet to test but I think the factory included this on small mirror trucks.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
Range Test #2 - just over 30 miles
this time I charged up to 389 volts, still not even 90% but we nearly hit the coveted 3.5 miles per killer watt, so this was all city streets and residential, no freeway driving, but no babying it either, and no hyeprmiling or any of that Prius jazz, ha ha interesting observation, seems like the volts drop very steadily as you drive until they hit 300, then you best get home right quick cause from 300 down to 270 and kaput goes by in a blink of an eye seems like |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
just visited a charging station for funsies, you should have seen the face of the guy charging next to me as I pulled up with this beater, unfortunately J1772 standard charging is not implemented on Dusty just yet
Distance: 2.8 miles away from my house . Last edited by Gregski; 09-02-2023 at 10:12 AM. |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
so I noticed the truck has two different style outside door handles, and from what I gathered so far I do not mean the different '67 slant on one and not the other, no none of mine are from '67
so first here is the driver side one from an unknown year, dirty then all cleaned up |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
one of year unknown came with the driver side replacement door and has sort of pressed in plate in it held in place with 4 little tabs
the passenger door came with the '71 cab and I am fairly sure it is a '71 door so it has a bit different design, it has a wrap around plate with two little screws holding it in (it's still the rusty one in the pics) |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I really don't care, but I just like to learn stuff, so I am wondering if the part numbers run all the way through all the 6 years of this majestic generation 67-72 or if there is some sort of divide / cut off
Drive Side Outside Door Handle Part # 3927897 I did manage to find this thread: NOS outside door handles - total of 4 with more pics and part numbers . |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
the passenger side was a joy to mount back on, unlike modern cars there's easy reasonable access to all the bolts

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I really love the industrial look of the cleaned up door panel sticks, but I wonder if I was just to clear coat them if
1. they would look like plane or primer 2. they would rust ? |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
Grass Valley. At least you have a reason to be parked at a charging station! Can't wait for the day when you post a pic of the truck actually plugged in and charging next to the others. The looks on their faces....
