Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Puzzle pieces.
I can't believe I just drilled a hole in my gas tank. I can fix it with A-N bulkhead fitting with a hose barb attachment. Bolted up the reshaped 72 Suburban fuel filler neck. Ran out of time before I could hook up the hoses.

Drew, do you think the OE fuel cap will cause a service engine soon light?

I'll need a 72 SEALED cap, or tune it out when I get my cat delete tune on the computer.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Looking good. I think your suspension travel should be ok. It's not like you plan on driving this thing through fields or anything.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Saturday night picture time.
I spent a while cleaning up the shop and reading the latest Hot Rod magazine, but I did get the fuel filler hoses hooked up finally. (I had to take out the inlet and cut it shorter which meant I had to weld another reducer on to fit the larger new hose) - wasting time. Then I moved on to fabbing up these crazy little brackets to attach to the axle to attach the ride height sensors to. I'm walking back out to paint them black so they will be dry to put on Sunday.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Nope, I bent the edge over so if it ever did hit it would only be rubbing on a curved sheetmetal surface. And I put the hose clamp strategically so the clamp would actually hit first.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I finished up the sensor mounting today and here are the pics.
I still need to weld the shock mounts to the axle tubes, install the e-brake cables, rotors, and calipers. All that can be done from underneath, so I may try to throw the bed on soon. Where's Igor and his buddies???

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Just a little sumpin sumpin.
This is just with a battery sitting on the ground so I can troubleshoot it before I get too far. My rear air lines are crossed for one thing, but hey, 2 days ago I had no suspension.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Nice!!!! Seems to have a decent amount of travel. Not as much as I've seen on some but probably plenty for a smooth ride and you're not laid out like some guys who have to raise it 6-7" just to be able to turn their tires

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Is it me or is that hose laying on a sharp edge? I can't tell what that is, but it just looks like it might not last. Other then that, this thing is looking sharp!

I'm with you on that one. A little security never hurts.
