Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

thanks for the comments guys! Gary, the disc kit is a piece of cake to install buddy. the hardest thing is taking the axles out to get the backing plate off. other than that easy peasy!

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

http://www.blackbirdscustomtrucks.com/index7.html thats where i got mine. Randy was a great guy to deal with.

i do know there is a vendor here that copied the blackbirds kits bracket. that may be a cheaper route. idk for sure though.

Your truck is coming together nicely! That master cylinder looks like a perfect fit. This rig is going to be too nice to drive man!

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

well guys... i have been working on her a lot but there just hasn't been much to post about. i got a new cruise control switch from ls1nova thanks man!! i got the cruise control all hooked up along with getting the tac module mounted. i'm going to leave the computer right in front of the glove box and just modify the box so it secures the computer. i also got the brake booster and master cylinder bolted down. today i ordered some small parts like the gas pedal pad, brake pedal pad, headlight switch and knob, barker booster nipple for the ls intake, and i ordered the brake lines for the front in stainless steel. the ones pictured are a loaner set from Billy thanks bro!

so anyways the big accomplishment this weekend was i modded my gas pedal and got it all mounted right in the factory spot!! here's some pics

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)

talked to the painter tonight and he had my fenders sandblasted. he's going to repair the rust from the battery and spray undercoating on the inside if the fenders. Thanks Jeff!!! it is going to look very sweet. and look "finished" with the contrast between the body color and undercoating on the inside. thanks for looking!!

Atta boy Dennis

You can spray it too, it comes in an aersol can, you'll need less than one full can for both fenders and hood. Might save you a few bucks, who knows.

If it's like most (not all) of them, he'll get to it when he's darn good and ready. Seems like every time someone is waiting on something to get there project going, it's the darn painter.
