Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

I just found out about this site because I had an idea of taking a suburban and cutting it off behind the doors and putting a chevy back half on it to make a crew cab 4 door and I saw what you have been doing but in my build I purchased a 2011 Silverado extended cab that has been wrecked and I'm planning on using he firewall part of the floor and the whole running gear in the sub build which includes the frame motor trans and rear end does anyone know of anyone else trying this? And imput would be great.

What about making the original control panel fake and having it hinged, hiding the new under?

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Awesome build! I just found the thing last night and just finished going through it. Those Charles Chips remind me of running out to the road at my grandma's house, can in hand, to get it filled with those great tasting chips. I never knew they had cookies. I'm sure grandma didn't want to deal with me and a bunch a fresh cookies.

Your truck is exactly what I've wanted for years, maybe once I'm done with my 66 C10 I can move on to a 71 crew.

Thanks for all the very informative updates, it makes it easier for us all. You should be on the DIY network.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Sweet, good junk yard score. Still to bad about the factory looking air box I know you really wanted to run that piece.

Didn't you say the brakes were an issue on the Maiden Voyage? Did you ever figure that out?

I can hardly wait for the interior to get going.

Yeah, sorry but I've been duck hunting and focusing on keeping my house dry during our 3 day monsoon. The one day I was going to video a drive down the road, there was a pile of newly delivered lumber in my way. I'll try to get a few things done this week, next week I have business and no time.

Hope your house project doesn't wipe out a year of build time, you are so close. I've been without a garage for 5 months and its killing me. Should be moved into new one by next month.
