there is a picture of a blue engine. The plate is clearly visible right behind where the exhaust pipe would go. This is a 216/235 Babbit motor. The 53 powerglide motor doesn't have this plate.

Just got our set of barn doors on while we fix the clam shell. Might keep alternating between them.

The ex-army truck will eventually be a frame off full resto. It is too complete of a truck to do otherwise. I actually believe it probably only has the 50k on it as shown on the odometer. For now, plans are to get her running and enjoy the patina. The panel...she gets a full restoration with a mind to driving and convenience. It runs and drives right now, but I'm not happy with everything on it and the folks that painted it prior to the past owner's purchase were not qualified to paint my dog's house. Haven't decided whether to do a crossmember or a frame swap. I'm not a welder, and don't want to learn on this truck...so I'm trying to find a good bolt in option. The 72...other than rust issues, thanks to being left out by a previous owner, is on the bottom of the list...but will get rebuilt out of nothing more than sheer frustration to what happened to my baby while someone else had her.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Here are a couple pics of my 58 Fleetside........... I acquired the truck from a gentlemen who brought the truck to Canada from California several years ago. He drove it was a bit then decided to restore it to its original glory but never finished it. 49,000 original miles and has never seen snow or salt..........
Plans are an IFS in front, coil overs in the rear, an LS to push it around and new paint..............Will look great in the garage beside the '49. |

Re: How about some pics of 47-59
Mikesad50 I think I'm going to keep it simple for now. Sids 3" lowered front and blocks in the rear. White walls and red wheels with origional hub caps. Just going to keep it as origional as possible for now..
