you could liner it completely then cover the flat parts up with some daimontplating perhabs , you can get that in high gloss too

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

Some slow progress on the pumpkin truck. It won't be making good guys this year. I decided not to rush it together to bring it back home and continue working on it.

I put different air bags on it because I didn't like how the other ones wouldn't air up as far as I'd like. Plus they looked super full.

Air in them with truck level.

I am redoing my exhaust and working on getting duals out the back behind the tires. All my exhaust is 4" but it will turn to 5" before it gets to the rear tires. I made my own Y pipe and the exhaust goes over the frame rail and will follow the frame until the air bag mounts and after that, they will go down and out.

My transmission is done so now I need to repaint it and finish my trans mount. I'm debating changing my trans cross member too, but I may leave it as I might have entire new plans for this truck. Or another, can't decide.

You never know. I can't finish it so why not keep changing it?

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

Here's a couple hours of work and contemplation. Sure doesn't look like it. I did decide I get to alter/modify my upper air bag brace so I can run the exhaust where I want to.

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

I haven't touched it. Nick borrowed the #6 line off of it, a horse ran into the side of it, and the auto may be going back in it. It's up in the air right now. I've been trying to get my 40 Ford back as a roller. I'd rather have one thing to roll around and store this winter rather than have one car eat up 2.5 storage areas.

In the back of my mind I'm going to get the Horn running and maybe stick my snow blade on it for when the white stuff really comes down We'll see how far things actually go...........

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

it be eazier to roll the truck around when you can start the engine and drive it

wat i see the nr 6 line and prolly a charged battery is all thats stopping it from doing that

Re: Finally starting my Longhorn 4x4 conversion

There's always a need for some large, heavy, awkward parts cluttering up the shop floor or taking up space under shelves, collecting dust, nicking your shins, and catching air hoses. It's the second best place for transmissions and transfer cases. And I'm sure neither one of you have only one transmission or t-case on th en floor either! I've got a 4L80E and a 700R4 along with a 205 and 241 for now... With another in the works. Pushing projects is good back work.

It looks like I'd still be broke with you guys around! You guys do sound like some of my buddies. Hey, you don't need this. Haha, beat it. Yeah, the wife wouldn't be keen on giving munchgins away, either would I. We have a 3.5yr old daughter, a 2yr old son, and a 16mo old son. It's like a mad house most of the time.

You might be able to make them work with some mods. I used the 67-72 style on this truck and the only other 67-72 I converted.
