Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Took more than a day but had my inner wheel wells blasted. Then prepped, dp 90 and underhood black. I have to drive my junk every day, so one project at a time.

Nice job and looks great. A friend of mine has some chrome ones for sale but that's not for me...

Thanks, man! I used the Flowmaster u-fit kit and hacked up about every piece to make it the way I wanted. Then ground down all of the welds to make it "seamless" Don't know if I'll do it again because of all the time involved doing it the way I did it.

Thanks man, I hear about that. Hopefully I'll keep it off of really dusty roads and parking lots.

74baggedbug , you gauge panel , steering wheel and shifter look great .
I am about to buy the same shifter and was thinking it was a direct bolt on
Can you tell what did you have to do to the shifter to make it work ?
Thank you , Frank

I had to have the part of the stock shifter that goes I to the column machined down to fit into the billet shifter.. The piece that comes with the billet shifter is to short and won't work on our non-tilt columns

Did you use a kit for the headlight relays? Where did you get it from?

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Drained remaining fuel from my tank in prep for tank/lines replacement next week. Rebuilt Edelbrock carb and man was it dirty with all of the rust and junk in the tank. PO told me it was a 600 CFM but once I removed it I found out it's a 750 CFM. Bit overkill for a stock 350 and I will have to look to change that out in the future.

Learned when assembling my rear end that something is wrong... wrong part somewhere. Summit Tech Line is closed.

Eaton posi carrier is making contact with the pinion gear before the carrier bearings are even in the seats... So progress for the weekend is dead in the water.... On to the Rum and Coke....

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Stripped down my interior and removed the old gas tank. Removed old seat cover and foam and now I'm just sitting around looking for that FedEx truck full of goodies so I can start putting her all back together again. It was pleasant to find that the floor and the seat frame look really good. Frame only needed a light brush and some paint down on the bottom.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

I widened the tailgate 6 inches to match the bed I did earlier this weekend.
It's now a Chevivrolet. I don't know if I will leave it like that or put a patch panel over it with a bow tie or something? We'll see.
