Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Little update. My new Champion radiator sit's about 1 1/2" higher than my old Walker radiator, so Mark made a new cover today. Still needs to be primed and painted. I had to make new bracket and mounted the overflow tank. Had to move to drivers side, not room where AC compressor is now mounted. Here's a couple pics...Jim

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Very slick. I too had a space issue mounting an overflow tank. I ended up mounting mine under the radiator shroud and attached it to the vertical support of the grill. It's not the most convenient location to access but you never really need to access it once your all set up.

Mark does great metal work.

Thanks Marc, my Mark didn't like it after seeing the pics, so today he is going to cut it down an inch in height for a better look...Jim

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Just a little work done today. Mark cut 1" out of the radiator cover. I put on some light filler and sanded. Mark sprayed the primer. Will sand and paint tomorrow...Jim

That will look more streamline. Funny what difference an inch can make.

You guys do beautiful work. I've admired this truck since I first saw it several years ago and you just keep making it more impressive.

Re: My 50 roadster pickup build

Hey everyone, little update, nothing major. Got the radiator cover painted last Tuesday 12/14 (pic 1) didn't do anything for several days.

Pic 2 &3 Today it was wet sanded with 1,000, 3000, 5000 then buffed out.

Pic 4 AC lines and fittings all lined up, will remove and crimp fittings.

Still no shifter, now told in may ship the 2nd week of Jan, 2022.

Merry Christmas to everyone, enjoy...Jim
