Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Well I put in the automatic transmission linkage. Twice got it working smooth then had to take it apart a third time. The hole for the linkage bushing was to small and I had to drill it out. Hope the third time is the charm

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Well today I worked on getting brake fluid in the lines and find a fitting for the brake booster vacuum hose. found the fitting and got it installed and got three of the calipers bled. Broke the bleeder valve, on the last one, so now I have to order a new one. This truck is going to drive me over the edge at this rate.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Got my TT 2's mounted on the Bridgestone 255/60 17's. Got some detailing on the centre caps to do then I'll probaby mount em on the truck just to see the look. My truck is in for some changes in the next year or so.

Didn't do it today but back in May I had the ECE Stainless Rear Mount Gas Tank I've had since 2003 along with the ECE Hidden Hitch and Hellwig Rear Sway Bar installed in my truck.

Installed my new seat, seat belts, pedal pads, trim, headlight dimmer switch
and surround. It was a good day to finally move this interior along a little further.

Finished up the bed wood and painted the strips. Now to set the bed back off and get it installed. Also finished up the fuel line from the rear tank to the fuel pump and ran new fuel gauge wire. Gauge appears to be working and we will see about accuracy.

Dang, that wood looks good. I think I bought the same wood kit. Did yours come with the holes already drilled? Mine is still in the boxes.

Jim - this is the basic yellow pine kit from Mar K and yes it was pre-drilled except the two edge pieces. I really almost hate to cover up the Boyd tank and all the work under the bed. It's probably the best looking part of the truck at this point.

Oh crap, sorry to see that, it would drive me crazy just knowing the damage is there.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Running out of things to do to the truck, which I guess is a good thing?

I almost bought a camper but the guy didn't want to move more than $25 bucks, so I decided to pass. Heck, I am not really 100% I want a camper shell - it just happen to be for sale on Craigslist!

I did decided to buy these United Pacific C677201 Door Sills. Mine had these little rust dots that I kept cleaning up after washing the truck. I figure these are likely to rust at some point too, they weren't all that expensive. I was suppose to get them Friday but the showed up on Saturday. Speedway Motor was good on their shipping guarantee and refunded the FedEx charges because it was 1 day late. Which was nearly the price of one sill!

Now if I can only find some of those wood grain bed rails..... though that will kill me ever getting a camper shell ha!

It's hard to believe that a rubber seal would cut into a steel yoke like that, but I've seen it happen before

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I found a key in a hide-a-key box inside my hood that fit my original door locks. I sent that key and the ignition cylinder to LockDoc. He rekeyed the cylinder. I installed everything back in my truck today. I like having the older looking octagonal key. Also, the door locks have a slight detent in the position where you remove the key that the replacement locks I had in my truck did not have. It makes it much easier to find the neutral position where the key will slide out.

Changed out the open chamber spacer to the correct carb spacer. Trucks runs better and seat of the pants feel has more power. Before I buttoned it up I had to flip the new spacer over to get full secondaries
