Drove it to work, and will drive it home. Might change carb tonight.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

A couple of days ago I installed a new dash pad, new dash bezel and a NOS 80psi oil pressure gauge. Now the dash is looking good.

They are made by Hedman.Theyre shorties. I can look for the part number if you need it. Those will be ceramic coated soon!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I finally washed it after a long winter here, I couldn't stand to see it covered in the dust anymore even though it was only 45degrees here, at least the sun was out for a bit

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Finally got it out of storage and took it out for a ride. Over the winter did some transmission work, rear diff service and some other maintenance. It really felt good to go for a spin after being cooped up all winter.

Took the '68 out of my small garage to my dads machine shed to do some much needed brake work. That's why it was put away way to early last year!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got her insured and licensed. Took the wife out for breakfast so we could test the speedo. Only 2 miles an hour off now.

Something gave out and she is getting a ride back to the house via the flatbed hauler.

Was a nice 3 mile walk for my wife and I to get home and call the Hagerty+ rep so they could dispatch a flatbed. Worth the money we spent on that for sure.

Now to get her up on stands and find out what the problem is. Sounds like the tranny gave out but not sure.

Good thing it was a nice day!

Bummer. But that's the perfect attitude. Next time I break something, I'll try to remember the lesson. Thanks.

For the first time in a month or so, I went to the shop to work on the money-pit. Got in and did some wiring under the dash and under where the hood will go (some day) . Routed the temp sending unit, HI dizzy red wire, starter purple, rear light connection thru the firewall, etc.

When I went for lunch, I stepped out of the shop on to the grassy approach and took a header (actually, I slipped backward) in the wet "driveway" outside the shop. Bent my leg backward under me and laid there for a while. My son-in-law (its his house and shop) was freaked to see the fat old guy down...especially since I didn't get up right away. Laying in that slop...and the mud was the "nicest" part of the slop. He was really scared, so I got up. Changed to a crappy t-shirt I have there for polishing, limped into the car, and went for lunch. Nothing broken. Nasty muddy-dirty-wet, so a drive thru was in order.

Makes me think how spoiled I am. No earthquakes, tsunamis, cancer, or other bad crap.

Came back and checked the mail.

Upside: A good second shower of the day; It's 74.9 Degrees F. outside; The DMV sent me a notice that the new plates are ready.

Sounds like you had the same kinda luck and better yet, good attitude about it. Love the plate. Was going to get some 'Collector' plates today but the governor wanted 300 for his taxes and fees. Went with basic plates and still cost me 145. On the upside. While I was standing next to the flatbed that was hauling my truck home a fella with a 69 stopped by and chatted with me for a while. Hooked me up with his mechanics #. His mech has a th350 he pulled out of the 69 when they put in an overdrive unit, recently rebuilt and in good shape for 150.00. Not gonna spit at that.

All in all a good day.

Why would I do that...Then I would have to talk to her

Good outcome tho. Put her up on stands and the pinion yoke was loose. Tightened her up and presto..She's good to go. Drove her down to the gas station and put $50 in her.

Question...
How much DOES $50.00 worth of Gas buy you in CO?
Here in Ca, the cheap stuff has gone up from $3.83 to $3.98 to $4.03 and now it's $4.11.

In Las Vegas last week I could get gas for $3.83 or,
($3.63 if I bought a Wash).

It was right at 15 gallons. - It's too bad we get such bad mpg in these but man are they fun to drive.

Had two offers on my truck today. One while I was trying to figure out what was breaking on it.
