Re: My 52 GMC Build

North Carolina trip 2018
2275mi in 11 days started Oct 17
Day 10
Sorry it was the next day we went for dinner with them. First off the road/ driveway we took to get to there place was not what you call lower'd truck friendly. From the bottom of there driveway we went up 1000'
This is a few of the GMC's we found at there place. He had about 13 all GMC's most where big trucks and most would run. I was in heaven. I tried to buy one he said not right now, but we have each others numbers. They where super nice and could have talked with them for days.

Great pictures and what a stash of Jimmy's!

I would have a hill climb race everyday coming home with a driveway like that!

Looks like a great trip and an amazing meet up with the GMC guy. You're probably lucky you didn't scrape off any parts on the way up that driveway!

Re: My 52 GMC Build

North Carolina trip 2018
2275mi in 11 days started Oct 17
Day 11
Started out raining, not that big of a deal just light rain. Got under way after breakfast planing to meet up with Henry (99 to life)
We took the Pennsylvania turn pike wow there are some elevation changes on that highway.
And then Disaster struck our 7mth old puppy started getting sick, out both ends repeatedly. poor guy didn't know what way was up. After multiple stops we had to cancel with 99 Sorry Henry we where so looking forward to seeing you again. He kept getting sick for most of the 10 hrs in the truck.
When we where 20 min from home we hit a snow storm, lucky it didn't last long.
It rained the whole way home, but made it home safe and sound.
Why did I buy white rims again?
This is the only damage after a road gator got spit in front of us.
Hope you all enjoyed the journey. Thanks for following along we have a lot of fun with this old truck.

Yes it is a truck passed us and spit a piece of tire rubber our direction and we hit it as it was still bouncing down the highway.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Been forever since I have been on here. I've been super busy. I'll just give the short form of what I have been up to.
Put a VW 1.9L TDI diesel in my 1967 Jeep CJ5 running great
Helped my 16 year old son get his 1983 GMC 2500 4x4 rebuilt, together and on the road
My '52 came out really late this year due to the stupid weather but am now enjoying it. 16,500mi and counting.
Bought a extra GMC big front clip for now it is spare parts
Bought a new project a 1951 GMC 9430 that I will start on next spring and will be selling when done.

I am forming the plan in my head.I am using the flat deck, static drop and of course a unique diesel motor. It will be built to be driven.
