Great work on the cluster! (Build me one! I don't even need a tach!) Did you convert to voltmeter also?

Thanks Chip, yes he converted to a voltmeter from a 80s model square body cluster. The ammeter wasn't going to work with the new engine.

Thanks Keith, as of today I'm going to be running the same setup as Jason member (shearjs). LINK
stock rallies. Unless I have some kind of huge windfall in the next few weeks....I want to get some 20" billets but not in the budget for now.

Nothing wrong with Rallies Mike, they always look good. I would trade my billets for your beautiful Red paint any day

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Great job, your moving right along now. Nice work on the cluster gauge, did you just have to do a little trimming to get that voltmeter to work? I have to do that at some point and time.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Mike, you guys did a great job on the cluster. Looks like you got the little feller out of the way before he starts chewing up all that new wiring.

Thanks Kerry. We actually just pulled the needle off the donor gauge, pulled the face, then installed the old face right in its place. Next we epoxied the old needle to the base of the new gauge needle. Sorry I didn't take more pictures.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Thanks Mike for the excellent description of how you installed voltmeter gauge using original face and needle, I was expecting alot more complicated job, that's too easy LOL

Thanks Kerry, If you look at the below pic, you can see the little screws I used to bolt the old face to the new gauge. I drilled out the stock rivets from behind and the screws fit right in the holes. I think they were 2-56 or 0-80 (tiny).

In all seriousness, is 67c10 selling the metal mounts for the speedo?

Chip, if you look at THIS thread, it looks like captainfab has taken over production of the metal parts. The decal and stencil is available from member ls1nova71.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Blasted, epoxy primered and painted with argent silver paint. Also painted the beads with POR-15.
I kind of wish I would have went with bc/cc instead of rattle can. Just doesn't look as good as I had hoped for.
I keep thinking these are just temporary anyway....

still looks the same....sheet metal soon

Right on, Thanks! I knew Eric had the decals, didn't know what was up on the rest. Thanks for the hook-up. Wheels look good!

The wheels turned out nice Mike. You can always upgrade to something fancy down the road. That's what my intentions are anyways. Get the go fast parts out of the way now, and the pretty stuff later. Keep up the good work!

Thanks Chip, no problem. It is a bunch of trouble but worth it in the end.

Thanks Jason. No cash for go fast stuff now either. Hope to do some stuff in the future. I just want to get it on the road and enjoy it...
