Your truck looks great Chris! How does it drive? How does it ride? Do you like driving it with the new setup? thanks

I just had her out the other day for a quick ride. The thing feels great, and the engine gets smoother and more powerful every time I drive it as the Holley continues to learn.

Check out a little video evidence my wife caught as I was coming home from terrorizing the neighborhood: https://youtu.be/tS4K0H5td8k

Catching up, I played a little bit with some additional faux patina. Decided I didn’t like it and sanded it all off...

Notice the wheel center caps were missing as they were off getting redone with a more appealing finish

Also toyed with the idea of painting the tailgate letters, but I didn’t like the look on this truck, so I settled on painting the tailgate trim black. Much better now.

I’ve also been dealing with a few oil leaks, which I despise. Bought the super-expensive blue Felpro valvecover gaskets and solved that issue, but had to pull the trans do deal with the rear main leak.

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10

While trans was out, I decided that I wanted overdrive, so the Muncie went on Facebook marketplace and was gone within a few hours. I am now scrounging pennies and looking for a good deal on a Tremec TKO (thanks to smbrouss70). Good news, my bellhousing runout is within limits and is TKO ready.

Oh, and another big thanks to Steven, once I saw the Dakota RTX gauges, I knew I had to have them. The New Vintage are gone and have been replaced with a Black Friday deal. Merry early Christmas to me

...also did the “Jeep Fan Mod”, which puts a modern 2-speed fan inside the stock shroud. Needed minor clearancing for the upper radiator hose, but all in all pretty happy with the ‘stock’ look of it.

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10

Looks great, but did you have to blame everything on me?

I thought LS engines weren't supposed to leak, isn't that how you told me to fix the leak on my SBC?

Edit: If you sold the Muncie, what trans do you have in it to drive it around today?

Apparently LS rear mains blowout if your PCV isn’t functioning properly (I have a fix in the works for that, too). The video is from a week ago, last drive before I tore it apart.

Oh, and it’s not blame, it’s giving due credit

Very nice, we were going to use the New Vintage gauges too, but I think we'll be going with the RTX like everyone else... next we'll be buying Vintecs.

Do you hvae part numbers for the upper and lower Radiator hoses? They may work on our LT swap.

Nothing wrong with Vintecs, other than the price

I blatantly stole the rad hose idea from here:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...69&postcount=6

The upper is from an 86-93 Bronco, pretty sure. Lower I can’t be certain, photobucket strikes again...

Chris I have to give credit to Steven and Kevin because I'm about to pull the trigger on the RTX as well. Credit goes to Ernie for the QA1

I hear this quote so often from the LS swap promoters....
All mechanicals can/will leak. Some maybe sooner than others. But if it's used, it will get a leak @ some point.

I love this! Everybody blames everybody else, so none of us are at fault for our own addictions. I finally feel like I belong in today's society!

BTW, I blame Chris too, because I fell in love with his yellow Blazer years ago, but couldn't afford it quick enough back then, so I've been making up for lost time.

I blame my wife for being an enabler. I was surfing Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, eBay, and putting out the local feelers for a TKO or T56 when she says to me “stop doing things twice and just buy what you really want”. 10 minutes later there’s a new TKO 600 purchased and on its way....

WOOT! That's kind of how it happened with mine too.

Re: How to: Ruin a perfectly good C10

So glad to see these updates Gringo! This is the first I've heard of using the Jeep fan. I've been hoping to use my stock rad and shroud also, so now its clear as day how do handle it.

In answer to the question posed by C10_ustacould, I can shed some light on what I used for hoses for the Gen 5. The upper hose shows the part number. The lower hose is harder to see but it is a combination of the factory 2014 Silverado at the water pump and spliced to a 90 degree bend near the radiator inlet.
