Wow that looks really good, awesome idea to use a hood skin as your notch cover. It will look really good with the wood floor.

thanks guys i am pretty pumped about the way it is turning out...lot of welding / grinding/ and body work left , along with building a hinge and a set of gas struts

Now thats a great notch cover idea mike ! I especially like the valve cover script, I had an old 6 cyl valve cover I was brainstorming with and though about smooth skinning my tailgate and putting the valve cover script on the lower left but i havent got anywhere near that point yet.
Also the rib on the cowl is pretty cool too, maybe continue the rib onto the dash ? the center rib might look good on the roof of a chopped truck. definately a few good ideas there. I keep thinking about removing the rib from my hood and making it flat and smooth guess well see when I get there. later

well the wife and kids went to see her grandparents in Hobbs New Mexico for Thannksgiving i couldnt get off work so....after work i got ALOT of work done ! My good buddy Chip felt sorry for me and loaned me his real welder...i will never weld with a flux-core again !!! I got the rear bed brace completely welded up and smoothed down (pretty pumped about that) and the notch cover i have most of the welding done anyway enough talk here are the pics
