Thanks for compliments mud man! It is pretty much a "pavement pounder" and doesn't see any off road use.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

I used to Mud race a lot hence the Mud man plate but spent way to much on this truck so not much mud with it either, but fun truck that's good all year round.

Still stock for the internals. Was rebuilt many years ago and has not yet seen 20 miles on it. Its a 55 with the head milled, new full valve job with new valves, new stock cam, new connection rods / oversize pistons, new oil pump, the only thing existing is the crank. Had her out the other day being that its almost ready for the road and i could honestly not believe how much power it has.

Right on man. Inline 6's are naturally torquey and just allowing them to breathe a little more can be a night and day difference power wise.

Keep pluggin' away at it, I look forward to updates

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

This '51 belongs to my buddy Marcus. His Great Grandfather bought this truck brand new right here in our hometown of Lancaster, CA in 1950! Marc got the truck from his Dad about 5 years ago and it just recently hit the road for the first time in over 3 decades.

This is probably one of the very few trucks you'll see that has been sporting those vintage accessories since it was new (grill guard, visor, etc). It's running a '56 235 with a mild cam, Clifford long tube headers and a small 2bbl on the stock intake. The old Stovebolt is coupled to an even older granny 4.

Here's a link to him firing it up right before heading to the muffler shop for new pipes and a pair of 18" glasspacks.

Wow, great grandfather? My great grandfather was born in 1829! He must have had some pretty short generations.

Not really, My grandfather was born in 1912 and was still buying cars into the 70s. Im 56, and my oldest daughter is 25, so her great grandfather could have bought a truck in 1950 quite easily. My dads grand father was born in 1890 or so, so now im wondering how old your Father, Grandfather, and great grand father were when they had kids.

If his great grandfather was born in 1829 that's an average of 46.25 years between generations being born, those are long generations!

I suppose that if he was the youngest child of a youngest child of a youngest child, and they were all fairly large familys, it would be possible.....
