I will definitely do that, but unfortunately sometimes it takes forever for them to post up the results. Maybe I can call around and try to find out a little sooner!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Just read your thread from start to finish and have to say what a great job you've done.
It was like reading a book, with all the anticipation of what would happen next and the drama with the cracked block and the bad mechanic.
Seeing where you took this truck from day one sure does give a guy a positive feeling when he looks at his own project and wonders if it's ever going to be finished. and congrats on the two first place.

I think it was just the judges that judged the class I was in, but still it's cool!!! Don't know how many trucks were there either, but it was alot.

JJ, that is really awesome for you to take the time to read my build thread, THANK YOU! The build definitely had it's highs and lows but it was worth it all now. I hope this does give you tons of incentive to just keep pluggin along on your project. Hopefully if you have not already started a build thread you will and we can all enjoy all of your pain, heartache, sweat, bleeding, brokedness, and smiles also!!!!

My truck has an inline 6 cylinder i believe is a 250 CID. I have the numbers but am having trouble finding the meaning of everything.

It wasn't pretty - I was stung 11 times by hornets and he gave me about $50 for helping him. Guess it paid off!!!!
Here is what has been done so far, and I will try to keep the pics coming and update them on a regular basis.

The day he gave it to me it had been sitting at a body shop for about 5 years.

Attachment 445546
I had the truck towed to the shop and realized it's potential.
Attachment 445547
I thought a little paint a little interior.....nope....full teardown.
Attachment 445548
Attachment 445549
I started at the rear, sandblasted then primed, painted and clear coated the frame.
Attachment 445550

hello, I am doing the same rebuild as you, i have a 1968 long bed, stepside, i have most of the body off and am about to start the frame sand blasting and cleaning. the cab is going to the body shop for rust repair. I intend to add some comforts, i.e., AC, power steering, maybe front disc rakes.

my question is will the 250 cid 6 cylinder pull the above comforts. It currently has two double pulleys but is only turning the alt. water pump. and fan , only one belt is on and the second pulley grooves are not being used and i dont think they have ever been used.

my vin # is confusing also, only 12 numbers, at oldride.com, it shows numbers decoded but there are more numbers than in my vin CS148A103237

Thanks bro!! First advice is to go to this website for all of your decoding needs!! here is a start. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/Chevyear.html Then find a nice V8 to drop in it!!! If budget allows of course! If you want to save time and get the frame powdercoated it would save you a weeks worth of cleaning and it would look great, otherwise alot of elbow grease and blasting sand. Get a few pics together and start your build thread and watch the # of views grow as you learn. Lots of good advise is here on the board.

The 6 banger will run the amentities that you mentioned but they will drain it of any horsepower that may be in it. Look at all your options and plan this build out in your mind and on paper. List pro's and con's, money, time frame and what you want out of your build (rat rod, custom, pro-street, or resto mod).
At the top of the page you will see a search window, type in a few key words and click on 67-72chevytrucks.com button and hit the Google button. It will lead you to most any answer to the questions you have. Stay on Craigslist in Georgia, there is a goldmine of parts waiting. And to help you with some of the mods you may be considering here is a very valuable tool......the FAQ thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=157669 Happy building bro, and get a thread going of your project with LOTS of pics!!

Getting it ready for the magazine shoot. Texas Street Fame magazine was coming this weekend to do it, but the weather was not working with us. Got these installed, happy with the look too, now I need to find the chrome radiator cover.

Thanks bro, lots of attention for sure! It may change some minds on longbeds, but is that a good thing? The prices on em will just go up!
