Thanks Jason. Bummer about the crimp. That's GM victory red. Thanks. I like it better than the plastic one that came with the kit. Thanks Scott. |

Have you decided how you are doing the fuel filler yet.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Thanks Kyle. I think it will go much faster once I get the doors assembled and mounted.
Yes, I will be doing something similar to THIS mod Hart Rod did on his truck. At least that's the plan as of today. My last resort is to go through the bed. |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Looks great Mike. Good thing you had A/C in the budget. Unfortunately that isn't on my list this year. What do you mean pictures make building a truck easy, you mean it isn't? haha. I can't determine if this site is good or bad because I just looked at mine and realized I tore it down 2 years ago. Time flies when having fun right.

Landen did a great job on it. It was pretty cool to see everything work after we got grounds installed. Those are very important on these motors. Quote:

Also, the gentleman I bought my trim from had the set for a few decades and many of the wrappers were very old. So a lot of the fasteners got lost. I have wasted a lot of time searching for these fasteners. I tried some aftermarket ones that didn't work out too well. I wish I would have bought them from MarK I have heard they have oem quality fasteners and trim. Hope to the doors done soon. I also found out my original glass and trim isn't near as nice as I thought. More delays. Wish I could have bought new stuff but didn't. |

Looking great Mike. I love that steering wheel. If I can't repair mine well enough that's the route I'm going.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
The trim fastener quality is pretty crap from all I've seen. I might have to try MarK and see if they have the plastic stick on ones. I have trim that has popped off the clips and it drives me nuts!

I'm hoping the new paint and new trim will help hide my 40+ year old glass. I am also planning to use an Eastwood glass restoration kit. New glass just isn't something I can wait till I have extra money for. I'd much rather have new tires so I can drive this thing. |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
I have been plugging along on my doors, got some fatmat installed on the inside. Then I drilled the upper trim holes on my passenger side door, scraped up enough trim clips to mount the trim, mounted the outside handle, inside guts, glass, then mocked up the door panel and hardware.
For the record, I used member LockDoc (Leon) advice HERE to assemble the glass in the door. It went right together. I know it will be way heavier to install but I think it will be worth it. I still need to drill the mirror holes and mount it. Still up in the air about that, lot of talk on here about the sport mirrors being worthless on the pass. side. |

Mike, that's awesome! I've been there drilling holes on freshly painted pieces and it's nerve racking! Great work.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Nice job on the trim and glass install Mike and thanks for the link on installing the glass. I'm definitely going to need to reference that when the time comes.
