That is pretty neat. I didn't realize they made them for those small window trucks either.

Ha I forgot how small the window was, when I took it out of the box I thought they sent the wrong one till I held it up to the truck.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

I picked up a future upgrade to the power level in my truck. It is a 7.3L power stroke with trans and everything I need to make it run. When I build the motor up I will double the power I have now, to 350whp 700wtq. I forget how big the 7.3 is that is in there sometimes.

The motor I currently have is a N/A 7.3L idi (indirect injection) mechanical diesel that I added a turbo to and gives me decent power over the stock N/A setup. I can't really push it much more but basically equals the stock output of the direct injection electronically controlled turbo Powerstroke.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well I finally pulled my truck out of it's slumber. Had a couple spark plugs go bad on me in the end of last season so I changed them all . Today I installed my new mirrors, so far I like the look but man it is stressful drilling holes in the doors. My new build will be getting the stock style mirrors I took off.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Upgrading to the powerstroke, uh oh, here goes the money train. Just start out in the beginning with a hydra and a T4 turbo set up. IDI's are alright, but you're going to love that PSD as you already said double the power. I really, really wanted to put a 7.3 PSD in my 40 ford but I just couldn't remove the 354 Hemi and justify it.

oh my gawd this pic of all the slammed identical looking trucks reminded me of when Easy Riders bike show came to town and these two Harley dudes were outside talking about their "Factory Custom" baggers, and then I swear to you on my '54 one of them got on the wrong bike, it was so embarrassing, I loved it.

Ya like most toys they are never done and sometimes you go spiraling out of control. But honestly I have really enjoyed this motor and I built the truck to do everything but one thing I said when I was building it was I wanted it to run 14.?? sec in the quarter.

That is a great show and to see the only 3 GMC's there all in a row sitting on the ground was awesome!

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well I have spent a lot of time researching what power level and what parts I need for the 7.3L power stroke. I decided on 450whp 750wtq, so I ordered all the parts now, so I have them ready. Today the last of the fun parts showed up.
I works out to a stage 3 build. That should get my 5200lb truck moving real fast. Turbo is a 66/73mm ball bearing, I will start the motor build after I finish the 48 Chevy I'm working on now.
