That Chopper bike is actually a Schwinn. They still make good money even now.

Went to see the new Captain America movie today.

Enjoyed it.

Then home to finish assembling the "Hot Rod Bike" as a friend called it.



And then when it was done, came in and Nicola made us Egg and Bacon rolls.

Back to work tomorrow, this weekend has flown by.

Pete, The bike has been rattling around in my head for some time.

I love shoppers and this one was headed to the tip, but I love trying to get stuff fixed, rather than tossed out.

Plan was actually Olive Matt or satin green, but the tyres and seat drove the black frame in the end.

I want to try a bit of pin striping, or maybe just a bit of striping on it too.

I guess it really was more just about distracting myself a bit.

Need to get my finger out and back to the trucks actual build.

There were more than one model I think.

Also, if you look and search in Google Images for modified Schwinn Sting Ray bikes, you will see some with small Chinese origin engines.

They look pretty nifty.

Had some of Nicola's and my friends over for a BBQ today.

I had been asked for a photo of the bike being ridden.....

Dave volunteered.



Of course being a long term biker, and former racer, he had to try wheelie this thing too......

After a great afternoon of quiet chatting and too much food and drink, everyone left for home.

One of Dave's 6 "I am not buying another bike" bikes. Me & Kevin with Dave suited up.



Tomorrow morning is boot fair again, and then certainly some real truck time.

I am as excited a kid at Christmas.


This weekend was pretty much a washout as far as the truck is concerned.

Unless you include buying parts to make it all twinkly in the end.




Today we had a nice bootfair with some good bargains and bits for the house.

I have wanted to try make a cool Steampunk Gamma Ray Lazer weapon for some time.

Today I got this tool for £1.00



And a working compass for the princely sum of 20p Yes, I know that sounds mad, but that's what boot fairs offer the patient punter.



I had to go over to Martins place to help him with some woodwork today.

I can do woodwork....... Mechanics.... Mehh.

So I quickly masked up and painted a black base coat.



Then when I got back late afternoon the process continued.



Done

Chuffed.

No purpose but like it any way.



So that brought the weekend to an end.

Today was another up at 05.00am on a Saturday and out the house by 06.00am to go help a friend and do a great little 350 mile road trip, so no truck time expected.

Kevin and I have been biking friends for about 13 years, and today was a trip to pick up a true basket case of a 1976 Honda TL125cc motorbike. He has one that he has had since new, currently undergoing full restoration, so this second bike was meant to be a spares bike, but having a Miller frame etc, it will now get the treatment too.

Near his house I saw this VW Caddy van. I love both cammo green and the Sharks teeth, more about it later.



Once we picked up his treasure we headed back for Hagon shocks and wheel builders.

His original 125's wheels had been completely rebuilt, including new stainless steel spokes, bearings etc. Cost....£440.00 and he was very happy.

They can do this....



What he had done.



They also own a load of Speedway championship winners.





On the way out, I had mentioned to Kevin that I had seen the cammo Caddy above and he then pointed out where the cars owner lived.
Once I left his place After our trip, I drove there and chatted to the father and son who had built the Caddy, and this W114 Mercedes Benz on air, and the father showed me the W115 he is now building for himself.
Crazy but perfect, he has added a whole lot of Steampunk thinking to the build.

Sons car.





I made it back home after 5pm.

Played a bit with this Schwinn Sting Ray, and also the bike I did previously.



I added a sharks tooth graphic to the front end, always wanted one.



Bootfair in the morning.

Fingers crossed for a bargain or two.

Sounds like you had a really fun day ,love the sharkstooth on the bike .I got my truck(72) out today for the first time since my back surgery ,had a good drive .Hope you find some deals tomorrow.

Hey Heinrich, welcome to the forum.

I do hope you can find some help in finding some of those parts you need.

Like the Instrument Cluster.

I would not know where to even start looking for one.

But hopefully the guys on here can help you find the right parts and get them to South Africa, I know how hard it is to find bits and then the shipping etc.

It was a great therapeutic day Bill.

My Boot fair pickings were slim today, three flags only, 50p each, so about 75cents.


I did manage to get this all steel kids ride on Fire Tender, never seen one in yellow.

Needs a bit of cleaning up and paint needs a buff, but happy at the price I paid.

Another ornament to gather dust and fall over in the house. Till we get tired of it an get rid of it.
