Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
I just got this '69 Stepside and had a couple of questions. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of a two-toned stepside truck? Did the factory ever offer such a thing, like a stepside CST or Cheyenne? I was also wondering how hard it was to find the mount to put spare tires on the sides of the box.
I hope I'm not stepping out of bounds by posting a couple questions here along with the pics of the truck. The yellow/black spraypaint one is the one I just got, had it running for the first time yesterday. Shouldn't take much to make it roadworthy. The blue one I had about 7 years ago, it was a great truck and I hope this one makes a good replacement for it. |

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
squablow, welcome and no you are OK asking it here. You may get a better response posting on the main 67-72 board area. I have seen a 2 tone stepside, but not sure if it was factory or not. I have seen one like the paint scheme below yours, so I assumed it was a stock or stock redo since it was shiney.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Another picture of my truck. The tires on it right now are just gross, but they are holding (for now) but I ended up buying some steelies from an 05 GMC 2500HD for cheap. Next up on order are some 265/75 R16 Bridgestone A/T Revo 2

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
I love this thread...the quality of some of the trucks on here is fantastic, as are the variations in styles.
Glad you didn't want to keep your Truck a secret anymore nuke1

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Thanks all! I have definitely been enjoying it. Took it to work today and it drove great. It tracks straight and sounds awesome. I can't wait to get 500 miles done so I can step into it. I feel like I have lots of pedal to enjoy.
I also agree with never being done. I have a big list of things to do to get it more road worthy (find out why the dash lights aren't working anymore, for one). At least I can drive it and work on it at the same time. I'll sleep better now!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Im brand new to this site, so here is a pick of my old girl. Originally a Washington state forest service truck, my grandfather bought it in 1978, and abused it for many years, until his passing in 1991, at which time I inherited the truck at age 15. This is the 3rd paint job, and will soon be torn down for a frame off restoration....maybe even a crew cab conversion so I can fit the whole family in there!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
My wife thinks its a stupid idea. She tells me "it wont even be your grandfathers truck anymore". Shes right......its MY truck, and fitting my wife and two boys in the truck with me is important, so who cares. Its better than buying a new truck to haul the family, while my other one just sits around.....which is what she wants!
