Thanks bud for the info., looking forward to using this matrl., never had much luck with stainless. Didnt know that napa carried it, but will check them out in the future

Ill try a test flare today, i have to buy some barrel nuts and adapters to see how it works with a 45 degree an fitting. Dont have a 33 degree flaring tool, but have read that -6 and -8 are ok with a 45 flare

Hows your build going, ill have to drop down and check it out, dont have alot of time to surf the web and keep in touch with all the builds i would like to follow

Got more fittings and russell pro hose in...( thanks JJK for the product info), found out that jegs fittings are about a 1/3 the price of russell. Putting the hose end on requires the use of grease on the threads

Have to build a bracket to support the hoses coming around the power steering

These are the clamps and some of the fittings im using....i just realized why they are a 1/3 the price, damn

LOL, I wish I could be bored. The wife is keeping me busy catching up around the house. So far I've painting soffits, wicker furniture, bed rooms and even fixed a oil leak on my sons cabrio. Boy the garage seems big when the vw is in it.

Dale, his looks like it has more orange, this wrap is a pure clean gold with a micro flake in it. The pic. doesnt represent the actual color well

I could tell yours was darker. But seemed to have some orange shade. But I will take your word if you say the pic doesnt represent it well.

Waiting for a sample of the matte gold to come in, may go with the flat look. Already have a sample of the brushed gold, but dont think that is the way i want to go

I have to remove shock mount to be able to flare tubing, gotta luv removing rivets! I think my mistake is using a pointy driver. Ill try and use a drift pin punch, and see if that drives it out better...2 hours spent on one rivet, and 1 hour cleaning out the truck bed

At least i have the fuel lines bent, kinda worried about that, didnt want it to look sloppy. Have to build a 1/4" standoff to clear some of the rivets that are in the way of placement of fuel and return lines. Also, i want to incorperate a clamp to secure my wiring harness on its way to the back

Re: PO has me PO'd

Jim,
Make sure the vinyl is specific for vehicle wraps and not just regular vinyl. The wrap vinyl makes it a lot easier to conform to the curves of a vehicle. I assume you are going with the 3M 1080 color series? I would also suggest using 3M primer94. it can be brushed on and you only need it in concave areas and complex contours. It will take several people to handle the sheets of vinyl most likely. I have actually thought about wrapping the panel truck and blazer to save funds for now. I am just now getting my feet wet doing vehicle wraps so I figure I better practice on my own.

Richard

Thanks for the tips Richard....first sample i got was the 3M 1080 series, thats the one on the fender, next sample coming is matte, and im not sure if it is the 1080 or not. Will have to look into that....you could always practice on mine, save me from learning

Dale, dont know what to say but, yep...

It really wasnt that hard, but, you lose the use of the back seat. Wouldnt trust the wood to support a seat. Plus, since no one else is doing it, it must not look that good!

Well, since the build is coming to an end....figured i would look at the rear drums.

Holy crap, batman, what a mess. This PO took care of nothing, so its time to start sources rear brake parts, and sandblast

I would trust it. I like the look of it, but my back floor is about the only thing solid on the truck.

Re: PO has me PO'd

Gone are the days of honing out the wheel cylinders, and buying the rebuild kit. At $9.49, its a no brainer....NAPA had all parts in stock except the adjuster kit, will be here on tues.

Wire brushed and coated with master series rust prevention
Thank goodness i didnt take the other side apart, i already forget how it goes back together. Service Manual isnt much help....oops, i was wrong, i had the wrong service manual. I was looking at the Van-Sportvan, instead of the 10-30 Truck manual

poser
