Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well, after fighting with the "exactly like the originals" pre-bent stainless steel brake lines I got from InLine Tubes via GMC Paul's I was able to re-bend the lines so they fit the frame. Because of the experience with the brake lines, I bought 15' of un-bent 3/8 stainless steel tube for my fuel line and bent it myself. Went so well I should have done that with the brake lines.

Drove it to work about 11 miles. Longest trip since the tranny swap and it did great!

Drove to Lowes for stuff in the addition. Since the T10 got installed, Been a blast to drive. However, next move might need to be a power steering setup!

Did a little more tuning too the carb and used it like a truck! Also put the original hub caps back on.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I finally got off of my lazy butt. After a year of running around in primer I'm going to finish my paint job. 98% of the body work was done months ago. I had gotten to a point and stopped. Meanwhile a few other projects were done in front of it.

I backed it into the shed, and my son and I pulled it apart today. It's almost funny how fast you can strip one of these trucks down. I hope to start painting tomorrow.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

yesterday and today I pulled the front end apart. I am eagerly awaiting new 7" slam specialties bags, tie rod inner and outers, pitman arms, wheel bearings and new drum parts for the rear. Almost bit on the rear disc conversion, but had to just shut off the computer and walk away with my tail between my legs.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I guess I better jump into this thread since I'm working on my new '68.

So far, I've given the cab a good once-over cleaning, fixed the driver's side door latch. Crazy thing wouldn't latch, so I pulled it out and it worked fine in my hand, so I put it back in and now it works fine in the door. Sunday I got the new ball joints and shock and brakes back together-driver's side only, and then today I started on the right side. I got everything apart before I ran outta steam, but going back together is the easy part.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Finally got the garage cleaned out, washed the truck and moved into the garage. Want to keep out of the elements until I get a job and can start pouring money into it. To bad I don't have the money, cause I got all the time in the world.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well actually a couple of days ago......
Stripped off the Black Paint on my 72 GMC Grill.
Afterwards, I'd say it was about a 7.5 out of 10.
Definatley a "50 Footer", but will do until I buy a new Chrome Grill.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I bought my 72 a new cowl hood and made a deal on a new front grill assembly by trading a new GM 68 Chevelle fender for it.

Finished removing the front driver's cab support and mount bolt. That bolt didn't wanna give in. Now on to removing the front clip to help with installing the new support

Hung my rods and pistons last night. Oh how I hate spiral locks. They can be frustrating when your out of practice...
