Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Looked at the numbers on my engine block today when doing a tune-up and much to my dismay found out the previous owner was wrong about it being a 350, it's actually a 305. No offense to those of you that like the 305, but I really hate that motor and for no particular reason. But it will have to work until I can find the money and time for a replacement. Oh well though, at least it runs ok, so far.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Well, a small step I guess. I replaced the suction hose on the fuel pump on the '71, the old one was collapsing.
Of course as always no matter how careful I was my right arm took a bath in gasoline. Got the "Beast" started for the first time this year and took a short drive exercising the 454. Now since I parked the "Beast" in a carport instead of the garage I can clean out and re-organize the garage some so I can work on various vehicle projects including the "Beast". I am posting a pictures, on of the "Beast" and the other of the '86 4-Runner I am going to do some maintenance and body work.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I felt I needed to keep the cab covered because the truck is outdoors and unprotected most of the time. I salvaged an old torn-up cover I used on the Granada for a few years. I almost threw it away not long ago (the cover, not the Granada). I patched the rips and holes with material cut from the trunk area. I made a fold to make it cab-length and then wrapped the cab like a package. It stayed on pretty good in the stiff winds we had recently. The truck is sitting in shade in the pic, but it's usually out in the sun. Good enough for now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
went and removed the front fenders, core support and grille off a 67 chevy to put on my 72 gmc. LIVRAT is going to trade me a gmc core support for the chevy core support. the truck was amazingly solid for how many floods that it had been through. heck the core support was the best part from the truck. i also mashed the tip of my ring finger trying to get one of the bolts broke loose. the grille is going to become wall art. now all i need is a hood and i'll be good to go

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
After sitting in my Garage for over a year, I took "new" parts into my Body Man to put on.
New: Front & Rear Bumpers Door Sills Left/Right Eye Brows Then he took my old grill off so I can use some Zip Strip, to take off the Black Paint. Then I'll be using 0000 Steel Wool for Clean-up. Then it's back to him for installation.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I helped a friend move yesterday (Saturday) so I borrowed my dad's enclosed trailer and took the 72' out. The truck did great, love the air bags, nice to have the trans temp gauge for peace of mind.
Heres the only pic I snapped w/my phone.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Pulled the carb off the 72, took it apart checked all the internals cleaned out the crud, runs alot better just have to fine tune it back in now and find another gas tank, throw in the seat and insure and license it. Then I'm gonna use it like it was meant to be, working on rust as I go.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Put my gr2 shocks on and decided to take it for a ride. It rode like a caddy so I decided to go relax at the house. Surfed through the forums on my wifes IPad. Got motivated went back down the garage and ripped the whole interior out of my truck to prep for floor patches, floor supports, and new cab mounts. What a great day.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I just installed a set of 40/20/40 seats from a 2001 GMC pickup i found on CL for $80 in my '69 c10, they fit like a glove! I also found this little gem on CL as well, came with the innards, headlight bezels, and mounting hardware.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Didn't get a whole lot done to the 72. Nephew took care of one of the cab bolts and i pressure washed the engine bay some more. But i did manage to change the oil, remove, clean and p&p the throttle body, and change the plugs and wires on my 01 tahoe. The plug wires didn't want to give up without a fight. I think they may have been the factory wires and plugs cause the wires said delphi. But i found out something interesting. It had iridium plugs in it. And the plugs had both acdelco and ngk stamps on it. I guess acdelco has ngk make some of their plugs for them
