Oh you got that right!! Wait the torque of any diesel is addictive. I love watching the speedo go up faster than the tack and you are only at 2000rpm.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well Saturday I woke up the beast and put it on the hoist for it's yearly oil change, all 14L of it. Had to do a few other maintenance items also, grease, change rear gear oil, change out my sticking starter toggle switch to a good push button, new bolt in my wiggly side mirror. Other than that everything looks great. for 6 summers and 23,000mi of abuse.

No not yet, I'm going to be building the powerstroke this summer and swapping it next winter with some other changes.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well that was not nice for my Jeeps first drive of the season, welcome to southern Ontario.
Installed some blue LED strips in the grill and under the bed, should look really cool at night. I have them on there own switch. The weather should be good by Friday.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well after 4 years and aprox 15,000mi of only doing normal maintenance, my truck decided it wanted more one on one time with me in the shop. When we where 3hrs away camping last weekend the rad started leaking from the top solder joint. A bit of JB weld got us home pulling the camper. Had to pull rad and take to the rad shop to get it fixed. Really the only other break down was 5 years ago my spal cooling fan died, I replaced it with Derale.

It is always a plus when you can do a repair on your terms.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

I have have the same gauges expect in silver. I too bought a BIM module but It wouldn't work for my application. That is the only downside (besides the cost) is DD can't tell you if a BIM module is needed for sure, its kinds a trial and error (experience talking).

Ya I bought the OBD reader to get the info, I need another BIM for my added pressure sensor so it SHOULD all work. I'm not trying to add a bunch of different stuff, it just has to talk to the motor computer. Guess we will see. Ya not cheap.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Took my Seadoo to the lake in style Friday, back bumper was under water, good thing I have a low trailer.
Then went to a local cruise night and saw this big beast, I could not find the owner to get more details, but I have seen it around town for years.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Well I finally started on the 7.3L powerstroke buildup. Took me about 2hrs to get the old stuff off I'm not using, and clean out the 2lb of dirt from the valley. Transmission is going out to get a rebuild/beef up to handle power. Cylinder heads are going to the engine shop to get new valve seals and my upgraded valve springs.
