Louder than stock is all it has to take, I bet. Any noticeable difference, loud or not. To me that sign says loud pipes are just fine anywhere else

There's an accent out of Baltimore where they say warsh the dishes. Not sure if they say take out the trarsh. I don't think so. I think they say garbage.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Sweet! '34, right? You don't see survivors like that all over the place.

That's an excellent job of placement on that Sea-tainer. All nestled down lower than the fence. Those things are great but they sure are an eyesore sitting out in plain view on a property.

Thanks Tim. It's a '35. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=799203 I'll know more once I get it home, it had a restoration 10 to 15 years ago . The container fit nicely down behind the fence line. I'm glad I decided to get a one time use instead of used , So much nicer.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

I had a used 20 footer years ago and I think it was retired because the doors opened and closed so hard. I think it had been dropped.

I figured the truck wasn't unrestored. But it's a survivor beings that it is all unmolested original all there. That's a great find

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Looks like they got tired of the lower front flapping and cut it off*. Wasn't doing any good anyway

* Or wiggled it back and forth to fatigue it and tore it off is more likely

Re: My Facetruck thread.

When I drove back to Illinois in '73 for "A" school in my '69 Camaro when I was in the Navy, I was amazed at the deplorable condition of vehicles that were newer than mine stacked up to 5 high, corroded beyond belief, in the wrecking yards. Just wow.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Then again, I bought a '72 Le Mans that lived in Malibu until I bought it, but unfortunately I didn't catch it until I got it home and started working on it. I gutted the disc brakes and some other stuff and sold it to a guy who I suspect just wanted the serial number plate off the dash. It was toast, for me. The roof was so crunchy that I could put my finger through the vinyl top. But I see guys in the midwest and the east who would have been all over such a nice (to them) specimen .

Re: My Facetruck thread.

My dad used to say "the bought lessons you won't forget". By that he meant if it cost you some pain or money you likely won't do that again.
I bought a used camper one time for my daughter. It was right at camping time and I still hadn't found what I was looking for when I found one nearby and not too much money. My mistake was looking at it late in the evening and feeling rushed to find something. Long story short, I think we may have used it once or twice when problems came up. It had been in a flood and all the cable lift mechanisms were rusted inside the lower walls. The cables snapped and down came the roof. Once I saw what we had I was pissed. The flood evidence was in the walls. I stewed on it for some days then I took a sledge hammer to it. I completely destroyed it one weekend right down to the frame. I hauled off the pieces and nailed the camper name plate on the wall in the shop as a reminder. That mistake cost me money and pain. I had my heart attack the next morning.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

We replaced the stolen truck. It's a really clean truck, but it came from Missouri, so I figure it has rust in it's future.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

Nice one. Maybe it was kept out of the slush more than most. I have bought trucks out of PA that were cleaner than Carolina trucks. The places where rust is worse is where you first had people looking to preserve vehicles from it. Look at how Hemmings Motor News comes from out of Vermont. New England had people stashing cars for the winter before anywhere else.

And you make a good point in your signature. Those colors we see should be purple, orange, and lime green. The colors used for halloween and horror type stuff

06 with just over 100,000 miles. We had it on the lift, and it is amazingly clean underneath. After a few months under the "loving care" of a pipeline crew it won't be clean.

They are camper mirrors, that manually extend.

Re: My Facetruck thread.

RE; the stolen truck.

Last night we got a message on our company FB that the sender knew who stole the truck and where our fuel tank and tools are.

He sent several messages and it seems he is trying to cut a deal with the prosecutor, and wants us to call and ask for leniency in exchange for the info.

We are not getting involved in that circus.
