Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Slowly but surely... been knocking out the to do list as time permits...
The other day after work I got the headlights wired and the grille installed...

Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Headlights on... Parking lights working...Check

Taillights on...Check

Dome light on... Check

Front bumper went on after the light pics were taken...

Yesterday after work I started on sorting brake light issues... they weren't working... A quick check found the original Brake light switch not working... Called the parts store and since there was one on the shelf, it was mine...
Following that diagnosis I found the turn signals also on vacation...
That trouble shooting will be handled tomorrow, new switch available locally...

Next job was adapting a used fan should I had lying around to fit and be functional... Started last night and finished it up today...

New Brake light switch installed and adjusted this morning, I now have brake lights... After getting the brake lights working and the fan shroud installed, I pulled the Stepper into the yard and sprayed off the top layer of grit and dust... Closer and Closer to Clem's...

Here are some pics from today...

Fan Shroud in place...

Custom Sail Panels installed...

Last but not least... My stepper, my DD, and the '60 Apache...
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Oct 15 is drawing closer every minute...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Since the last update, I've sorted the Brake light issue, New switch installed...
Replaced the Turn Signal switch, and thanx to over-thinking the issue with the brake lights... I had both rear lights blinking whenever the left or right blinkers were used... While attempting to sort out the inop brake lights, I wired the 3rd brake light feed to both brake lights... (yep, epic fail on my part...) Well the other day after washing off the top layer of dirt, and snapping the previously posted pics, I ran the gas tank dry when returning the stepper to it's designated space... I added fuel and fired it up, only to have it die and not restart... BUILD AN OLD TRUCK THEY SAID, IT'LL BE FUN THEY SAID...
Seems the old gas, I assumed burned up...didn't. Upon removal of the carb and disassembly, both fuel bowls full of crud... A quick cleaning, new base gasket and once again starting...
So, after work today I re-adjusted the carb and sorted the Turn signal issues and repaired... So now, as Phil Robertson says, "HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!!!"

Here are a couple of pics...
Replacing T/S switch...

Next up, attach some pipe and mufflers, get tags so I can legally put some shakedown miles in... Attend Clem's Bash...

Laterz...
