PM him and I bet he'll design one after he gets all the others made up. I'd like to have him make some for the grill for the 76 too. I'd also like to get an Excursion name plate with the Cummins C instead of just a capitol C.

Thanks Mike. I have another cool bling part on the way that another member turned me on to. I can't believe I haven't seen anyone on here talking about them yet. You'll just have to wait to see what they are.

I did buy some shock mounts for the D60, adjustable bump stops for the rear suspension, and the secret shiny things too. Still no word on my converter. I bet the builder is at TS getting ready to race. I'd really like to get the trans back in this thing before June. I forgot to show a pic with the 35s on it. I stole them off the 76 since it's just setting around any way.

I'll probably put them on again. We'll have to see. I really like this look too. Yeah, it never seems to stop. There's always something else. this week I also ordered some wheel spacers for the front, and an AFC live stage 2 for fuel control.

Thanks. I really like Ford trucks. Especially 84 up. A 97 CC LWB and a 05 cc lwb are my favorites.

I've neglected to look at this build for some time now. All I can say is WOW! the truck looks great. With every page I click on it just gets better. As far as the seat from the Dodge, how was mounting it, did you have to do a ton of fabrication to get it to bolt to the floor? Is that seat from a standard cab truck? Thanks, keep up the great work! What front springs are under the truck? as I see the shackle is kicked back on an angle. Thanks again.

Sorry for all of the questions, but the aluminum wheels you show in some of the pics, are they 8 on 6.5 BS? I need to start looking into new wheels one of these days.

Thanks. It was suppose to be a quick easy simple truck that kept turning into wow, that's cool, I want that too.

As far as the seat from the dodge. The seat is from a 04 2500 Quad cab/crew cab. I didn't modify the floor at all. I cut the factory dodge seat brackets off and modified them by welding angle and flat strap to them and used the factory chevy bolt holes to bolt the seat to the floor. I also added some bolts just in case. I wish the seat was from a standard cab truck because these don't fold fully forward down and it makes it hard to get to things behind the seats.

The front springs are skyjacker 4" lift springs for a 73-87 chevy. I used those because I had a pair back when I started the build.

The polished ones or the painted ones? They were both 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern but I can not remember the back spacing on them. The polished 18s were 4.5 0r 5" if I remember correctly.

I was talking vehicles with a guy today. Got onto the Diesel subject. He pulls out his phone and says he was at Goodguys and saw... Before he could finish, I said "A Diesel Powered Vette?" His eyes got big. Said I knew you. I am pretty sure my street cred just rose substantially.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, I'm trying. I got the trans back in but I tore the front end apart to do the king pins and u joints. The king pins really didn't need anything other than new seals. But, I will know they are good for a good while longer now. I just need to find a good amount of time to stay working on it. Haha

Yes sir. General Motors quit building trucks after 1991 IMO.

The 88-99 old body, I've worked on way too many that had too many early failures. IMO the bodies were built really crappy. I was not a fan of the IFS front suspension. The new body style 99 up are better aesthetically looking, but I just never really cared much for them. The frames are stronger than the previous but again the IFS ruins it for me. Don't get me wrong, they are good trucks, I just would rather have a super duty, or an OBS ford before a 99 up Chevy. I got bitten by the ford bug in the late 90's and haven't really went back until I had a dodge for a while. Now I just build what I want but that takes years. Hence why this truck is still apart.

I can't agree with that.... If I had to pick one favorite 67-72 excluded, it is gmt400. Despite all the rotten press ifs got in the beginning, I've never had durability issues and loved all of my ifs trucks. And they look sweet.

Around here they were rotting out before they were 4yrs old. My hatred for them more than likely came from working on them a lot. That's all we did for 2 summers were front end bushings, ball joints, CV shafts, leaf springs, cab corners, rockers, bed sides, front fenders, floors, and doors and door hinges. The Kodiaks were the worst for that. I've never owned one so I could be biased.

They feel cheap and went further away from being a truck and closer to being a grocery getter. I don't mind a few options on a truck but its a truck. My 08 Dodge has a rubber floor mat in it. I am also not a big fan of LS motors in a truck for working but they do make good hot rods. The front ends also don't take well to the abuse of a juiced diesel. Look at all the broken fronts in the sled pulling world. Last gripe would be way to many electronics and computers to do something simple.
