Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Hah! I have one of those three generations worth of o-ring assortments too. I remember when you could just buy the one you needed, before businesses decided what works best for them is most important. Need a valve seal for your bathroom faucet? Here ya go, an assortment enough to do the whole neighborhood... unless there are two sinks that need the same seals. Then you'll need another grab bag of seals

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

those generic kits are handy but frequently missing the size you actually need..

important to know what series (cross section), hardness (durometer expressed in shore rating), and elastomer type (buna, viton, epr/epdm, etc.)

those kits typically have a mix of 100, 200, and 300 series low quality orings..

hydraulic fittings for instance don't use any of those..

orb (oring boss) take 900 series, 904 -4 1/4", 908 -8 1/2" etc..

just for those that didn't already know - dash size is the number of 16ths of an inch

face seal, cat, komatsu, etc. are all unique as well..

we stock 90 shore 900 series kits and cat kits in all our service trucks

I order all other seals by oe p/n or from sample sent to an actual seal house like ac depuydt, cal state seal, etc.

You are 100% correct, I keep these on hand for low level repairs like hose reel/air line swivels, hose washers etc. around the house.
Something critical I go get the right one for the job.

Nice truck! Green Acres is about 3/4 mile from me. There's a club (I think) that meets there sometimes. They have all kinds of nice shiny old vehicles.

That one is reaaaal niiiice. Mile deep paint, white walls and a good stance. It looks, dare I say, elegant even. Wow. Owner has to be proud.

And yes, you captured it well.

Detailed the Yukon and the Camaro yesterday. My wife and I went in different directions after we were done cleaning then met up for lunch later. When I pulled up next to her I thought this was kind of a cool shot. Camaro reflection in the side of the Yukon.
