Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

Have you thought about making the modified rear wheel wells for the rear dropmembers and raised bed floors. This would be good for us guys with limited metal working skills.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

Huge thanks to Mario and Bill for shooting the motor and trans orange last night. Frame is blasted and ready for powder. I will have it back tomorrow night. If I get the chrome and polish back by the end of the week I am money.

You and Gringo, turn key shop.. Tootsies Speed Shop.

One off wheels, billet stuff .. you guys would do great. Im talking. "Send me your truck, I lay it out and build to spec" You are obviously dang good at it. Even a back room shop for a while then maybe a show on Discovery Channel

Seriously man.. I think you are on the Chip Foose/ Boyd level.

That looks great! What coating is that on the exhaust? I like that gold tone on it.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

Eric I love the Orange motor and trans, I painted both my motor and trans chevy orange cause I thought it looked good. I know if have read it somewhere but your truck is Hugger Orange right. Hope you don't mind but if I decide to paint mine Hugger then I'm building the little sister to Tootsie of course Tootsie is alot more custom then mine will be

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

hey Eric this is Joe I came over with Al when he picked up that frame that he bought from you. I have a quick question I'm helping my 14 year old nephew on his 72 we are going with 22 inch wheels and in some pictures that I see it looks like the tires get close to the fire wall and since billet specialties jack me around so long that I had to switch to Intro's and it will be three more weeks on the wheels and I want to get all the cutting done do I need to cut into the fire wall? maybe I'll see you in Del mar... Joe

I am going with a brighter gold then those so they are not mine. I will go with a jet hot coating on the exhaust if I dont like the gold. I just wantto see the gold on the exhaust first.

Hi Joe how are you doing. If you are not running a drop member and you are zing the frame then the wheels will hit the fire wall. If you are running the drop member and control arms you should be money.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

Not for nuthin', I'd drop a little paint into the milled groove on the lettering on the valve covers to get it to pop a bit. Seems a shame for that killer work to wash out. It all looks fantastic, man. Can't wait to see it all together.
