Re: My Facetruck thread.
This old 94 has been through several Crews and just keeps on ticking. It has 363000 miles on it. We took the logos off of it a couple of years ago to take it to the auction and it still hasn't made it.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Spent some time talking with George my WW2 friend at the local retirement community. He said this week (3-6) will be the 79th anniversary of his letter he received from Roosevelt requesting his presence at a camp. He told me a few stories including the time he was helping guard the only bridge across the Rhine river strong enough to carry tanks across. As we were talking, another WW2 vet walked through and stopped to visit- pretty cool. George looks really good for 100

Re: My Facetruck thread.
He definitely looks great. I love the stories too, so spend as much time as possible with him. It wouldn't hurt to tape him when he's talking. Preserve that history.

He looks fantastic. That's great that you can stop in on him. Ever think of an outing he might like?

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I have some good times on some good long road trips with my wife and my good friend and his wife. He has had more cars and trucks than I can remember, but the one he usually drove was a 61 Impala.
He owned an auto parts store for 40 years, and just sold it last July to concentrate on his cars and family. A month ago he found out he has stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. It ain't looking good. John Watkins is in my prayers. The 61 is his and he is watching me work on our El Camino in Columbus OH

Re: My Facetruck thread.
My son in law had a project at their house today. My grandson parked the mini ex and then went for a ride through the pasture.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Aw c'mon man. You need to tell it like a trucker now that it's all over. Color it up while putting yourself totally in control. "The road lost it's hold on my rig and she came around on me. I figured the median was the safest place to put it even if it meant I had to lay it on it's side"

My dad was an “over the road truck driver” all of his life. He liked to embellish his stories. He was also a “one upper” kind of guy. That may very well have been the way my dad would have told the story had it happen to him. I did forget to mention when I exited the van from the passenger door I did a back flip to the ground and realized that I needed to upright the vehicle so, all by myself I push and lifted the van back onto all for wheels. I think I pulled a hamstring because I didn’t think about warming up first. I prolly shouldn’t done the back either. Last edited by kingsolver72; 03-14-2020 at 10:41 AM. |

Re: My Facetruck thread.
That movie cracks me up. How dare those bad police men should try to break up that 85 truck convoy.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Seems to be a good dog, not upset by it's former life. Looks like he's well adjusted.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
This 71 Cheyenne Super has a GM crate engine and 700R4. It has been sitting for 5 or 6 years by my back door. I finally loaded it up to put in storage today.
