took 17 years to convience po to sell to me. quick history pull in drive way to a young ladies house for first time driving a 70 c-20 and pull up to 72 c-10 swb super (her nieghbors truck shared drive)married the girl gave up on truck. 17yrs later(2006) bump into her old nieghbor at grocery store bsing truck come up and i was able to buy it. was happy to get it.

I gave up on stock headers for my truck. I ordered a mock up kit to have my headers made the way i want them. Hopefully 3rd time a charm. (didnt think i had to reinvent the wheel)

im still running manifolds at the moment, never really liked headers as i always had trouble with them leaking.

Looks like you have your work cut out for you, but SWB 4x4's are getting harder to fine, so its worth saving. Gap between cab and box looks real right up top on the driver side....id look closely at the rear cab mounts, and at the frame to make sure everything is looking ok

we are looking forward to the challenge, it's a family project that will involve mostly my dad, father in law, and myself. I',m hoping to completely lift the whole thing off of the frame and start there, it runs as is but the guy just blew the head gasket, my father in law is donating a 350 with just 9,000 orig miles. I appreciate the advise and hope to keep you posted with progress, and look forward to more helpful tips as we go. once again thanks, Gary |
