I've hit a few snags like you have such as having to upgrade my air compressor I wonder if that cost goes under total cost of restore? I'll more than likely have a few questions when I get to the motor dropping in but overall I think between your thread and Bob's I'm covered

Dennis, those videos are sweet! So cool to see it out and rolling. Those engine covers look pretty nice too.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
thank you sooooooo much for referencing the page. i'm on a 200ft dive boat and the internet is slower than snail spunk. Also, it doesn't load ALL pictures. I must have missed those the first time around but i see now.
I've got a 6L80 so i'll have to wait until the cab goes on the frame to see if that setup will work for me(i think the shift shaft sits further back on the tranny). Also, have you heard anyone using these? http://www.classicperform.com/Instru...F/7387RSRB.pdf my frame is cracked on both sides where the rear shocks mount so i ordered some, should fix up that problem area... ps...i'll start a thread here once i get to some high speed internet |

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Well if you're going to need new rubber you might as well get more under there while you are at it and widen the wheel tubs on that sucker now before the work is finished on the bed.
You need all the tire under there you can get to help put all the power to the ground.
