Thumbs up Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Wow, I love this project!

I miss my 99 Crew Cab Dually terribly. Great idea's with cab configuration, drive train choice's and even the new factory style wheels. Surely magazine material and reliable daily driver.

Subscribing!

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

WOW! Took me a whole week to get through the entire thread. You do top notch work! I have kicked around the idea of doing something similar. So now I have a step by step guide! I know its a little premature, but I was wondering if you have kept track of total cost? It would be interesting to compare the differance between the cost of buying a new truck, and what you have done. Again, Awesome work!

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Got to have a go pedal!

Call me a weirdie, but being a pack-rat comes in handy when you need to blend vehicles together. I cut the tip of the new pedal off and welded it to the old pedal rod since it had the perfect end hole to mate up with the new truck throttle linkage. Now the rod end and cable are back together once again.

Clean up and paint.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Boring report for tonight. I installed my steering shaft fully tonight only to find it isn't straight, and that matters. So I started remaking it from another extra part I had squirreled away. I am going to take it to my race car fabricator's shop to let them make it perfectly straight for me.

I put both fenders back on for the last time I think.

Air ride is all fixed now too, so check that off the list.

So when we read about your truck in a magazine it will say the only thing not done in-house by Drew himself was custom building the steering shaft...

Good call though, steering is safety.

Unbelievable work, Drew! Simply awesome!

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

You may want to take any small children or the elderly out of the room before viewing these next photos.

I have everything plugged together, including the door harnesses and roof/mirror/cargo light harness. I wanted to have everything plugged together and get the monster running before I started eliminating anything. On the inside I am ready to turn the key.

Need to finish up the outside and fill with fluids.
