Re: 1969 Short Wide

I wanted to add some pics of the interior. I forgot I built a plywood piece to go where the gas tank was originally, then covered it with carpet. I didn't document any of this either.
Sorry for crappy cell pics.

Mike, interior is perfect, you nailed it. Cant wait to see you rolling down the road in this thing. I know you will drive it when you get finished, but putting these things together is just as fun. Didn't you say Landon had a 67 that was next on the list?

Re: 1969 Short Wide

This truck is turning out awesome. I bet you have a ton of time tied up in that gauge cluster but it fits the truck perfect. Can't wait to see it done!

Thanks Chip just a matter of finishing now. Well, they are never really finished but you get the idea.

Thanks, I like the interior too. There are some things I need to wrap up like the headliner, door seals and sill plates. But that won't keep me from a test drive
edit: Sorry I forgot, Landen does have a 68 stepper project coming up. I'm thinking we are gonna start on the 67 Camaro this fall first. I'd like to help him get the 68 driveable though.

Thanks, Yes my son Landen spent over a week on it, I had a few days of development for the can modification. It turned out good though. Look forward to seeing your truck(s) in the future too.

Better than when the General rolled it off the assembly line in 69. Nice job on the inside. Does it have that new car smell?

Your Interior looks amazing Mike! I really like the black interior against the red paint.

The pictures might be less than you hoped but the interior of the truck looks great.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Another late night in the shop last night. Got the Cowl installed, then hinges, hood and finally the bumper.
Tonight, I am getting some tires and hopefully installing the bed.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Looks good. The bumper makes a big difference. You must be clearing out a lot of space in the shop as you install parts. You must have been nervous with all of those nicely painted parts sitting around.

I see you have a 292 emblem on the fender. Is that the Cubic inch equivalent of 4.8 liters?

You should be driving by Labor Day, for sure.

Thank you. Yes it's nice to actually put parts on the truck. I have had them stashed in the corner under sheets. I nicked and scuffed them here and there nothing major for a nice driver. It will need a full detail by the time I'm ready to drive it.

Nice catch on the engine badging. I went back and forth on this, thought about making custom badges but decided not to. I have been catching some crap about it from my boys but I like it. I'm sure the inline 6 guys won't like it either but hey, it's a little different. And yes 4.8 liters = 292.9 Cubic inches. I know I rounded down but it is what it is......

I think the 292 badge is an excellent idea, I would have never thought of that.

Thanks Mark, It's pretty cool how it's finally coming together. A ton of little things to get done but it's really nice to see it look like a truck again.
