Thanks Bret

Not sure I would frame that pic but truck looks good on its own.

Was good to see Don and even nicer sitting in the truck.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Thanx Bret and Mike, as for the mirror, the '60 has the roof mounted and I'm not sure what year they changed over to the windshield mounted... I've always liked the roof mounted, so that's the direction I chose... I may have to frame that pic... Wish our visit coulda been longer... Fun and entertaining nonetheless!!!

Unfortunately I was unable to make it to Clem's this year, but I did attend a Show about 20 miles west of home and enjoyed taking the Stepper and hanging around gearheadz all day...

Here's a shot of the Stepper and I on the way to the show...

My friend Tony's Rat 62 with a 63 cab on the left in the pic, He's seen in the following pic with the owner of the red '63...

The Red '63 in the following pics won the Truck class, well deserved. The owner, wearing the straw hat in the first pic, has had this truck since new. Not sure how long ago, but the truck has been restored...

This morning we rolled the '60 out into the driveway so I could load up some scrap for the haul into town...

Here's the trailer load... came out to just shy of 1900 Lbs...

Glad you got it on the road Don. I drove mine about 1/2 mile up the road Sunday after noon. Still a little bit to do but almost there. Your truck looks great

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Such a bummer that you couldn't make Clem's after all that hard work, but I'm glad you were able to enjoy attending the other show. That red '63 looks nice, but I wonder how the engine ended up blue when everything else looks pretty original.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Thanx Guyz!!! Good to be driving and sorting out the issues that are deciding to arise...

Did some trading over the past week and ended up with a set of CPP Rear lowering springs...

Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Today I loaded up Jojo and took a ride into town to shoot a few pics of the Stepper at it's former home... The truck was originally purchased by the local school and worked for it's keep until 1978. Ironically, the years it was in school so was I... Shortly after starting my thread, I was perusing other threads and decided back then to shoot some pics of the stepper at the old bus shop once I had it on the road...

On to the pics...

JoJo waiting for more ride time...
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Still lotsa little things to address... Never-ending...
Laterz...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...

Yesterday I decided to install the lowering springs I traded for...

Quick and easy as compared to removing the originals... Here's a comparison shot of the '70 Chevelle springs I installed during the build process, and the CPP lowering set...
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

...and a comparison pic of the truck with the different springs... top is with the taller ones...
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

...the Chevelle springs seemed a bit loose and the CPP springs seem a bit more stout... new Rear shocks are in the forecast...
That's all for this installment...

Thanx Greg!!! Ride quality seems fine, the rear is a bit stiffer, but it needed to be. The Chevelle rear spring just weren't stout enough... Stay dry!!!

Not much happening recently, been busy with life...

I did find a bag of rubber stops I'd ordered through Brother's a few years ago... Found some stops for the Gas door I added as well as new Hood bumpers and Glove-box bumps... There are 2 flat stops and 4 larger stops that have defied my reasoning as to where they go...
Here's a pic, so if anyone has an idea, please reply...
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Started out today snapping this pic with a tea/coffee mug Rian brought me last year...

Then I had to indulge in a chocolate/Caramel treat also courtesy of Rian from this year's trip...

Enjoy the cooler weather guyz!!!

I'm not sure about the flat bumpers, but the 4 other taller ones are for the doors, 2 on each side. Should be holes in the cab door jamb for them to fit into.
