and last we had to put in the vertical felt channel for the big glass, I used some stickem on this, the wrenches were used to press them in and they are just the right thickness to glide through the entire groove

CAUTION FROM THE FUTURE ME: this proved to be an Epic Failure and a waste of money. I could not get the doors to shut with this weather strip on no matter what I did. I even tried only running it above the windows and still had to push on the doors with both hands while standing outside the vehicle to finally get them to latch, not the way you wanna haul your girls around.

Just got back, and saw the vent window rivet compression tool you used. Yep, brought back memories. I went through 2, one per side getting those little suckers compressed properly.

I mean those fragile tubular rivets must be made out of Kryptonite, look what they did to my sheet metal brake bar I used as a backing to hammer them down (and that's from Harbor Freight so you know it's gotta be good! and made from unobtainium)

so Bad News and More Bad News

so, first the Bad News
so I hung the passenger door and now it won't shut all the way like it used to, all I get is the first click

now I've heard of this happening, and I did go with the thicker weather strip thinking I got gaps the size of the Grand Canyon to fill, but what is disappointing is how good it used to shut before, I mean you could fling it with your pinky finger and it would close all the way perfectly

now I didn't slam the door, so I think maybe I broke it carrying it in and out of the garage to work on it, maybe

either way no further updates tonight as I may or not be hydrating if you catch my draft [I mean] drift, and yes I did mount the door before putting the triangle back in but you need the door hung to adjust the thing ma jigs

so I woke up this morning had some coffee and decided to look up the price of a new passenger side window

and bam, it's only $90 bucks, no problem, hewk, I might just break the other one for funsies

that got me remotived, so I went ahead and popped out both windows

the passenger side slid off the track real easy, the driver side fought me all the way which made me want to get it off even more and clean that track properly even more

once the windows were out in the wild I noticed an unusual flat spot in the middle of both tracks

here's that flat spot on the driver side with the window in the door, it's hard to explain but it just looks like its worn in that area, sorry the pic turned out blurry, you can sort of make out the cleaned up and greased channel

guys I don't know what the regulator roller ought to look like but I doubt they are supposed to be thin and razor sharp like pizza cutters

I think on modern cars they got white plastic wheels on them like our bedroom closet doors

got the driver side door hung, and it also doesn't close all the way - thinking about putting the truck on Craigslist jk

So this proved to be an Epic Failure and a waste of money. and got the triangle back in and let me tell you, Christ on Crutches getting the bottom 1/2" bolt up the vertical channel was a nightmare, sliced up my forearms real good, and may have even invented some new cuss words

and what's the result? well the window goes up and down with the same resistance as before, so not smooth, so it wasn't the crudy weatherstipping that was binding it

as mentioned above I suspect a combination of a worn out window channel and a hellish regulator roller

They do sell new regulator rollers (wheels). They are press fit. I replaced one on one of my regulators. I was suspect on how well it would install but it was a piece of cake.

Yes that's it. Once you insert the shaft into the wheel and into the arm of the regulator you smash the end over to secure it. I used my bench vice under the arm when I smashed the end over with a punch. I grinded off the old one from the regulator arm. You probably already had that figured out.

Also come good grease in the regulator track helps.

Finally finished the the Rusty build yesterday and jumped and finished this one today. Hell of a good job man.

No we have seen a 4.8 ls put in and a 5.3 ls in Busty the only way to top that would be a twin turbo diesel in Dusty think of all the room that has to be filled under that hood!!!
