Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Thanks guys. This past year has been such a waiting game, though I've been investing my labor and learning what it takes to make something straight that was never intended to be. I definitely have a greater appreciation for what it takes to get a car ready for paint without just frosting filler/glazing over every square inch.
Final touches wrap up at Bruce's this week followed by the move to SoCalNW next week! Posted via Mobile Device |

This car is so cool! Just gets better and better.
I just love shops that get after it and take care of business.

Thanks Zoomin. I gotta agree after the slow-leak, although high quality, bodywork saga it's nice to see them getting at it!

Ah, Tualatin.... I miss that area. Looks like they're taking care of things pretty quickly. I hope they keep at it.

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Yes sir! They are in Tualatin (southwest of Portland). West of I-5, off of Tualatin-Sherwood Road. It's called So-Cal Northwest. They had just opened up before I left that area back in 2007.

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
That's right Knomadd. Though they are located in Tualatin Autobody, So-Cal Northwest Speed Shop is an independent entity. They don't have much of a website or facebook page, but my understanding is that they do all the paint for Rothsport Racing.
More updates from Karl: A few areas on the undersides of the Hood (Bonnet) and Truck (Boot) lids where some very small picking could be seen --> No longer. Drip Rail Seam Sealer: The rails looked straight enough to me, but that's why I'm not a bodyman: |

Put on your white jumpsuit, swivel your hips and sing along... I'll have a blue Sunbeam by Christmas....
Notice that no one calls it a clown car anymore?

No detailed overlooked by Karl
These screw holes were used for the on-door seals which used to run the whole perimeter of the doors. Now that I'm running door aperature seals and the on-door seals only around the window frames these are no longer needed: Sorted: |

Those little details are insane! The paint is going to be sick on this thing. Love all the attention to detail!

So I guess the door shells weren't to his satisfaction and he did another round of sanding and primer on them: Cowl needed a little love apparently: Driprails good to go: Doors in final blocking (I asked him to do one final block on the whole exterior) |

That's going to be so flat!!! I'd be afraid to take it anywhere for fear even a gust of wind might put a wave in it It sure is going to look good though.
