Any way to use an overflow bottle from another vehicle from the JY? Might be able to find the shape you need?

looks like it calls for a custom welded stainless overflow catch that fills in the some open space on the fender well ....

... since everything else is custom .....

maybe a car overflow, like a late model impala or malibu...would be flatter ?

It is just not working out with the factory airbox. The tubing is too short and the radiator bottle won't fit. I just ordered a new air intake kit that will allow me to relocate the filter and swap the overflow bottle into it's spot.

I think that is a great idea. Too bad you can't use the factory box, but the aftermarket unit should look pretty cool. Would a K&N filter attached right to the trottlebody fit or is that the kit you are referring to?

On the trucks, the fan and radiator shroud come up too high to go straight on. It will be a 90 degree bend/tube setup.

Tonight I just worked on tidying up a bit with wires and grounding straps, checking and tightening bolts, etc. Nothing picture worthy.

I've done a little gas cap sleuthing and figured out what a "vented gas cap" is and how it works. Everyone else may already know, but after disassembling it I realize that there is a one way check valve which allows air to be drawn in (to relieve the vacuum pressure of emptying the tank through using up the gas).
This valve will not allow fumes to be vented out into the air. It will be a piece of cake for me to just remove the check valve and dab some sealant in the air holes to keep any air from coming or going. My question is though, do I want to do this? Does a new truck cap completely seal or does it also let air in to relieve vacuum pressure just like the old one? I could try it unmodified first and see what happens, but now I am curious. Who's got an answer?

Original tanks are vented directly in a few spots. Including a vent line on the filler tube. Cap is not vented. New stuff is different though and you can get check engine lights if the gas cap is left off.

I needed to fuse my air ride system and was going to use a crummy inline fuse until I started poking around in my new fuse box and found an open slot for a 30 amp Maxi fuse. I went to an audio supplier and got the correct slot connector and tied it all in through the back of the fuse box. A ground to the body and air ride is ready to go!
